have 1977 gs, under 90 is bad, up to 175 is good, as long as they are in 10% of each is good.

SOURCE: MY 85 SUZUKI GS 700 E IS HARD TO START JUST CRANKS BUT WILL START IF I SPRAY CARB CLEANER IN THE CARBS

Hi JIM
remove the carbs and clean main jets slow running jets NB there is a small pin hole in fuel bowl under carbs use cleaner blow that hole that what operates the choke , so activate the choke and spray through till free from blockage and assemble .that,s it.

SOURCE: how do i adjust or tune up my carb on a 1985

this bike came with a vaccum petcock so you might want to change the hose that may be collapsing and not letting gas go thru

How do i adjust or tune up my carb on a 1985 suzuki gs 550 l runs but the has to be choked out

If it is running like that with new fuel the problem could be plugged idle jet circuits. The carburetors will have to be removed, opened and cleaned. You will need compressed air for this job. Good idea to replace all 'O'rings inside carb at this time.

My bike acts like it isn't getting gas...the carbs are shooting gas oust the back when trying to start it

TAKE THE CARBS OFF. DISASSEMBLE AND CLEAN WITH BRAKE OR CARB CLEANER AND AIR. PUT THEM BACK TOGETHER,REAL SIMPLE,TAKE YOUR TIME. LOTS OF SMALL PARTS, BUT EASY TO DO..

I can not get gas to the carbs how many vacuum hoses feed into the petcock??

petcock should only have [1] vac to inlet manifold & [1] fueling carbs & would be different diameters so you cant confuse them
Cheers Rob.

Took hose off the petcock and turned the bike over but no gas

I would take the vacuum and main fuel lines off and just, pardon the expression, **** on it to see if the fuel will start to come out from the petcock outlet. Also check the position of the valve to make sure it is in the "on" or "res" and not "off". Duh. It happens.
If that doesn't get it then the petcock needs a rebuild. If the fuel line or vacuum line is clogged or the carb floats are stuck closed you will also get no fuel. Check it all out with patience and curiosity. It's an easy fix.

It only will run when i spray gas in th carbs

most likely the carb is clogged with old gas. normally caused from letting the gas sit without running the bike for a while
