Either you have a faulty oil pressure switch or the pick up screen of the oil pump is clogged. I would change the switch first as it's 10 bucks not expensive then go on from there
could have a wire grounding out or it could be over heating. also on some vehicles if the oil level isn't just right it will turn off as a safety measure
replace spark plugs or make sure it;s new .fuel filter is new . then adjust the distributor move until RPM is OK and engine stable . ( distributor with two bolts ) loose little and adjust
Yes but that wouldn't help if you still have an over heating problem. To correct the problem, you need to replace your VW OEM plastic impeller water pump to an aftermarket metal impeller water pump. Plastic cracks at the shaft which the pulley drives and spins slower than engine speed or not at all. It's also a good time to do a timing belt service when you do this because it has to be removed out of the way to get to the pump.
Has the car been serviced recently?
If not I would suggest getting it done. Not sure if you have diesel or petrol, but oil can thicken causing more load on the motor and airfilters get blocked and can cause a rich fuel mixture.
If petrol you can take out the plugs to check if they are a light brown colour, if very dark or black you need to check and adjust carb/injection settings/filter.Need to know what engine it is really.
