do a coolant pressure test , if water comes out you'll have to do gasket again make sure head is not cracked and gasket is on the right way, good luck.
You need a new Valve Cover Gasket. The rubber seals around the spark plug holes on the Valve Cover are leaking. A new Valve Cover Gasket will come with the round gaskets that seal the spark plug hole.
If by water you mean coolant or anti freeze then yes you probably have a head gasket out.You can remove the plugs and turn the motor over and see if water comes out of the plug holes. One other thing is if you replace the head gaskets do them both not just one head.Hope this helps.Good luck.
remove spark plug were the water was at. put your finger over the hole without burning yourself. have someone to turn the engine over a few times to see if more water comes out. try this on both spark plug holes one at a time. if you continue getting water from each plug hole then i would say you have a blown head gasket or maybe both depending if both plugs came from the same side,if not then both head gaskets are leaking. that problem would also make the truck or car run ruff/missing/hard to start. hope this will help you.
Check for possible water in oil, also remove radiator cap and start engine does water want to pump out of radiator, is there white smoke coming out of tail pipe, if yes to any of those blown head gasket, if not sure yet remove spark plugs crank engine over is there any coolant coming out of spark plug holes, if yes blown head gasket, and last have a block test any repair shop can do this.Good luck
sounds like you might have a head or head gasket problem, combustion pressure leaking into radiator/cooling system causing pressure build up (hose swelling) the noise could also be from this failure.
get engine warm so hoses swell, turn off engine remove spark plugs leave radiator cap on and pressure from cooling system as is(hoses swollen) wait 5-10 minutes crank over engine with plugs removed and keep clear of spark plug holes, put paper in front of spark plug holes if water comes out of spark plug hole or slight wetting of paper with water head or head gasket is at fault.
Don't do the gas down the spark plug thing. It's a bad idea. Do the following >
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side or bottom of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.
Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well. < < READ CLOSELY > > Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road. Please rate this solution. Thanks!
Possible blown head gasket...sounds like it, remove the spark plugs and do a compression test, sometimes you will find water coming out of the spark plug hole with a blown head gasket, pull the plugs and turn the engine over, with the radiator full of water, if water starts spitting out of any of the spark plug holes...it's a cracked head, or blown head gasket.
