Have you checked out your starter solenoid? If you momentarily short across it, does the engine turn over. Point is I am trying to make, is that are you certain that the original start button was definitely at fault.

SOURCE: i have a 2005 r6...just put in a new battery..bike wont start

maybe, now this is just a guess! but your starter shaft is just spinning and not engaging properly..check starter or solenoid to starter wire connections are that they are on solid, and no corrosion, measure bat volt!!!... should read 12.4v "minimum"! if not battery is either going bad or might need a charge...correct voltage reading should be 12.7v to 13volt.

SOURCE: my 2000 plate r6 starts

recheck all the battery and wire connections, take the volt meter with you next ride, to check the bat voltage if it stops again.
The stator can develop a layer short, which can be intermittant due to heat and vibration.

Check battery for a full charge. Put charger on, bring to a full charge, then put a load tester on the battery and check for weak battery, dead cell or cells.

I have a Toshiba 63hm116 TV and I think the power button on the TV just went out, how do i fix it?

Try bypassing the power button by jumpering across the two terminals. If the set doesn't turn on, it's not the power button, it's something more serious. If it does turn on, just replace the power button with any momentary switch.

Presario SR 1055CL will not turn on I believe its the on off switch

If the computer started giving you trouble turning on before it failed, it is probably the power supply and not the switch itself. To check, you will need to take the computer case off. There are usually 2 power switches on a pc. The first one disconnects the incoming line voltage completely. Make sure this switch is on before you try the other power switch. The second power switch actually starts the computer. The power disconnect switch is a toggle (or latch), that is, it retains its position. The switch that actually starts your pc is a momentary contact switch. To test the momentary start switch, you will need to take the cover off. Be careful not to damage anything and watch out for exposed voltages. If you pay attention, it is not dangerous. All you need to do is short the 2 wires that go to the case switch momentarily. Once shorted, the motherboard latches on until a power failure or shutdown. Note that you do not want to keep the 2 switch wires shorted, since this will prevent the pc from booting. Just short them for about as long as you normally push the power button in. If the switch is bad, they are not usually difficult to replace. You should be able to find a part number on the switch, as well as manufacturer. While it seems like all the case switches are custom per model, they are not. The actual switch itself is actuated by a plastic button on the case.

Dryer wont stay on after hitting the start button.

Hello. The motor switch may be faulty and may require a new motor. Less likely is the start switch itself but usually this is just a momentary switch which gives power to the motor, if the motor switch is bad it will just go off when you let go of the start button. Dryer motors are usually around $125 plus the labor to fix it, an hour minimum. If the dryer is older I would just replace the dryer as you can get a new simple one for $250 often. Fewer bells and whistles the better. Hope this helps. Good luck.

TV used to come on but quit. No Remote. Fuse is good. How to bypass power button?

the power button is a momentary contact switch
so if the set is not coming on and the fuse is good
you probably have either a power supply problem or a horizontal circuit problem which is why the set is not starting up

flyback transformers are know to fail on these models

My compture workes sometimes and sometimes it dont.the power button was dented in after a rock fell on it. it seem like it may be a short in the power button . i am using the end of a pincle eraser to turn...

The motherboard has a pair of pins that is connected to the switch. The switch is a momentary contact, and when depressed the motherboard detects the momentary contact and starts up.

You can use any momentary contact switch as a replacement

Color of wire from start key switch to solenoid

Fords use under hood mounted starter relays. They look like a mine withe 2 large threaded posts abd two small threaded posts. Ignore the two large cable posts. If only one small post has a wire on it, remove wire and try to start engine. If no crank, put back on and try cranking. If it cranks then that is the wire you will put juice to with the other side of the in hand momentary button" connectected to the hot big past. Battery cable big post. Note! momentary button only. be safe, you will be too far from the brakes. Always block wheels. set parking brake. make sure trans is in neutral or in park Do not use remote starter while standing in front of the vehicle or while under the vehicle.

HP Compaq Presario SR2013WM ...Power Problems ?

Unless the power button sticks or does not pop back out, i doubt the issue is in the switch, but it can be tested by replacing it with a momentary switch from Radio Shack (not an exact fit, but good for testing)
This sounds like a power supply issue. That would be the first thing to check. If it is NOT connected to anything except the power cord , it shouldn't run unless switched on.
Could also be the motherboard, but before you start dismantling the computer , check the obvious. Open the case (usually to screws on the back) inspect all the cables, reseat your ram chips and addin cards.
Not to scare you ar anything, some of these presarios have bad capacitors on the mother board. coupled with the fact that they are difficult to clean (inside) and airflow is not maximized in the case, they tend to cause the capacitors to swell and leak, losing voltage.
When you are inspecting the insides of your case, take note of any capacitors (little cans with crosses on the top) on the main board inside around the CPU fan that are swollen or leaking.
If you find these in bad condition , i would replace the motherboard.
