SOURCE: wire connector between stator & voltage reg/rectifier burnt

your voltage/reg. can be tested in a couple different ways check ground res. check res. then revs. bias on diodes you have ac in dc out it sounds like you may have a diode gone bad allowing ac curent to flow causing the wires to get hot

SOURCE: wiring from stator to regulator/rectifier to cdi on chinese atv

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Would this help? From the stator:

  • 3 yellows to the rectifier/regulator combo;
  • blue & green from the pulser coil to the CDI.  The blue here is actually connected to the ground.  The CDI's ground wire is black/white;
  • (near the stator) single blue to the CDI.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

SOURCE: 07 gsxr 600 no power to the fuel pump or coils put

Start with the basics. Check the fuses, then use a digital multi meter to check continuity from the fuse panel to the fuel pump and coils. If you have good power/ground/continuity, the next step is locating a complete wiring diagram to find out what other components are in the loop. But if you start with the basics first, you won't be dropping hundreds in parts for a $.12 fuse.

I have replaced the rectifier, the stator. I'm getting 13 plus volts at idle and everything seems to be charging. The fuses are good my main headlight is out but the other two work. Help please

The most obvious thing is that the headlight bulb has failed on your mystery motorcycle. You can test it with a multimeter set to ohms, or connect it direct to the battery with a couple of lengths of wire.

Neither the rectifier or the stator would cause a lights out scenario. Everything is powered by your battery, the stator and rectifier just charge it back up. If the bulb is good and the fuses are good, there is only the connector, the switch or a break in the wiring that can be the cause.

Battery wont charge

Check for AC from the stator to the charge rectifier, then check for DC on the rectifier. if you have AC but no DC replace the rectifier, if you ahve no AC the stator is suspect. Assuming all fuses are checked and ok

How can I make my 15.5 h.p.kohler charge again

Check the rectifier to make sure you have AC power on the AC terminal, if you do stator windings are good, if not stator is bad.
If you have AC then check the DC wires on the rectifier, if you do not have battery voltage, change rectifier, if you do suspect wiring / fuses

NOT CHARGING BATTERY JUST REPLACED REGULATOR RECTIFIER WAS NOT THE PROBLEM

All fuses must test and be good, including the ones not in the fuse box. The stator has AC voltage out to the regulator, so you are looking for the phase wires from stator to rectifier, isolate them(disconnect them) and read AC volts from these wires(not to ground but to each other) there are 3 different combinations so write down what they are.you need three sets of numbers around 50 Volts AC with the rpms aroung 1500. if you dont get about the same on each of these you are probably looking at replacing the stator.the wires in the stator sometimes loose their protective coating and then develope too much resistance to output enough power to keep your battery full.(try disconnect all ubnessesary add ons) The wires from stator to rectifier often get hot and melt if not kept clean inside the connectors.(look fot wires that have been hot) Reconnect any that have damage.

Head lamp Quit working. Continuity thru bulb is good. No power at bulb for high or low beam, even after switching to high beam. No power at switch. Power thru fuse. Where is the power after the fuse box,...

you have to have at least 9 volts to turn the head light relay on it is usually a regulator rectifier or bad stator that causes this, the relay is part of the fuse box assy .

Bad regulator and starter

Who told you to test your R/R that way? When you're testing the stator by looking for resistance between the yellow wires and ground do you get 0 or do you get no reading/infinite? If you get 0 the stator is bad. There's a PDF here: http://www.electrosport.com/technical-resources/library/diagnosis/pdf/fault-finding-diagram.pdf If you use this diagram you won't have to ask us any questions other than where do I get xxx part?,,,
