SOURCE: kawasaki vulcan 1500 classic just clicks when

Hi and welcome to the site,

Initially, have the battery externally charged and/or load tested.

Offhand, with a freshly charged or new battery and clicking sound persist, then possibly a faulty starter relay. To confirm, temporarily jump the 2 big terminals of the starter relay. If the starter motor spins, then the fault on the relay has been confirmed. Should still be a no go, then a likely concern with the starter motor or more particularly, the carbon brushes and/or the commutator segments.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

07 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 on start up the solenoid stays engaged & starter motor stays running. What could cause this?

Bad switch,Bad relay, bad solenoid the solenoid may need cleaning.
For troubleshooting remove the positive wire from the starter.
That is the biggest one. on the starter.
Now place a load on the wire say a headlight or 12 volt fan

I wana put 04 harley hand controls on a 89 harley need wiring diagram

I think the wire colors changed sometime after 2000. If you still have the old controls, you may can make up your own wiring diagram. While you've got the switch housings open to put them on the handlebars, write down what color wires come off of what switch. Do the same with your old switches and your new switchs. If your horn button uses a red and a black wire on your old controls, and your new switch uses a red/white and black wire, then draw your diagram to match the red/white wire where the red wire went.

You're going to have to do a certain amount of this as you will not find a wiring diagram that shows an 89 model bike with 2004 handle bar wiring on it. Good Luck!

Wiring To an 08 Ultra Classic

If you are mounting the unit to the bars or fairing, I would recommend using a power lead which is available in the fairing, rather than the AUX accessory switch.  The AUX switch sends power to a connector under the seat, in front of the battery.  You would need to run new wires up under the fuel tank, along the neck and into the fairing to connector your Zumo to the AUX.  Instead, there is a 12+ V switched ignition power lead which is not used on U.S. touring bikes and would be perfect for connecting your Zumo.  Pull the fairing off the bike (7 screws, TORX T-27) and look at the headlight harness, which is 3 wires, black, white, yellow.  Attached to this harness will be 2 wires, a black and an orange w/ white stripe.  The orange will have a red silicone cap over it to prevent it from shorting out in the fairing.  Cut the zip-ties which connect these 2 wires to the headlight harness and then hook it up to your Zumo, black is negative, Orange positive.
