SOURCE: I am about to buy a 1998 vn 1500 kawasaki -

NO theres not. i own this very same bike i have the 99 1500 drifter #0791 last 4 of vin. the only quirk with this bike is the clutch springs. they were weak but if this bike has over around 20k miles you should be good because someone else probally has replaced them, if not its a simple quick repair. but if you have to replace them just upgrade to the mean streak spring they will fit, they are a different part number but they will fit. its an hour and a half job to replace them. i have done about 10 of these in the last few years for customers. if any further questions contact me on here and we can go over this on the phone. i am a kawasaki vulcan nut. i own 2 of these bikes one being the 1500 drifter the other a 02 800 drifter.

SOURCE: 1999 VN 1500 Classic Air/Fuel Ratio

Yes,but it will only make it run bad by either being too rich or too lean,It will not increase power or MPG's and will be damaging to the internals.

So what are you trying to achieve? Better mileage? More power? quicker response? What?

Check that your crankcase oil level is not overfull. Have bike compression tested and check that it is within spec.

I hate to sound like a moron, but where is the engine oil fill located on a '97 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500? Every bike I've owned has had a "wingnut" looking cap located in plain view. I can't find one on this...

If you found the drain plug then I'm sure you have found the site glass for the oil on the left hand side of the crank case. Above the sight glass at the top of the crank case is a very large cap that looks like it take s a giant screw driver. Unscrew it and pour oil in.

Yes trans is lubed by the motor oil.
The final drive is like a rearend in a car. Gearlube.

2002 kawasaki vn 1500 classic.electrical fault.

Check the ground wire at the battery, at the negative post at the battery you'll find a smaller (black/yellow) wire, it must be plugged into the main harness, it might have become unplugged, the connections will be right close to the battery.
