Make sure your air filter is clean, check the fuel filter and tank for contaminants. More off the wall , the rev limiter may be faulty, is it a certain speed or a given rev range that causes the shutdown? Look at the air filter first!! Good Luck, Marshall
could well be the battery has just gone flat starting the engine up and running it for a fuw minuets knocks more out the battery that you put in and batterys dont like cold weather any how if your going to leave the bike standing around not being driven go out and buy yourself a 12 volt 2.5watt solar charger hook this to the battery and it will keep the battery toped up even in dull weather,,,,i have them on my bikes all year round, cheap power!!!
I,d probably do a compression check on this old girl. sounds like she needs some attention to the top end.The valve stem seals sound like there spent.Oil is seeping past the seals into the combustion chamber and being burnt off, thus explaining the rough idle and white smoke at start-up and dissipating as the engine warms up.Probably time to spend a bit of coin keerossi.Think of it as an exchange, money for thrills.hope i've helped you out a bit....tabby...OZ
this is a educated guess but in normal cars they need a spacific amout of back pressure to run properly now my removeing the cat you may have tampered with the back pressure balance and now it causes it to raddle try putting the cat back on
if you have a suzuki gsxr 600 its probably the set valve, if you removed it there is a pin you need to remove on your ECU to turn the light off its on the gixxer forums if you want pictures to walk you throuigh it, i just did it not even an hour ago
THe fuel shut off valve is also called the "petcock" it should be located on the side of the gas tank on the very bottom. I think it is on the right hand side. Look for the fuel line that goes to the fuel system and you should be able to trace it to the shut off valve. It should have 3 positions, ON / OFF / RESERVE
