2002 zx12 r bike wont start

When key is in off position turn key to on and listen very carefully near gas tank or fuel inlet. Likely take 2 people. Do not try to start the car only turn the key to on. You should hear the fuel pump kick in. I'm willing to bet it's bad. Just a guess, I'm an a.c. guy but had that problem once.

Something like that sounds like he simply missed a connection on the upper harness. There is a connectors over and to the left side of the engine. Check all the connectors.

Bike batteries need full charge to start a bike, if there is less than full charge you can't even push start them. No click generally means no charge, the clicking sound is the solenoid working.
When you just start the bike and run it at idle, even fast idle. The battery does not get sufficient charge. What you take out of it to start it, is more than what you put back in it when you run it at idle. Bikes need to be at road speed to charge efficiently.
Also just sitting around they discharge, you may have an earth leak also. That causes your battery to discharge at a more accelorated rate than normal. If it has a clock in it, this bleeds off a small amount of power but still enough if it isn't being correctly charged.

have you checked your timing?sometimes it jumps.

Can you hear any "hum" from back when you turn key to on? (not start)

check gas flow there is a little valve stem on the gas rail. if no gas then the fuel pump is gone see if you can hear it turn on when you turn key to the red lights in dash no sound try leaving key on and kick the tank fuel pump could be stuck.

Have you connected back the pump properly? Does the pump relay engages as it should?This will happen when you turn the key while the kill switch is at "run" position.

first check the fuse for the pump if its ok then when you turn the key on you will hear the pump kick in for a secound or two i would suggest that you go by the tank and listen and have someone else turn the key to the on position

Sound like you have a fuel problem.Turn the key without starting the bike listen for a slight buzzing noise it will come from where the end of the tank and the seat meet this is the fuel pump priming if you can not hear anything then most likely your fuel pump is not working.Your carbi may have grit in a jet a carbi cleaner can help.
