Spoiler on 964 is stuck in up position. Replaced switch in engine lid. Did not fix the problem. Checked the fuse. It's fine. Lubed the master gear. No effect. What else should I check or replace?

depending on the type there is a motor or magnetic pin system. motors can fail and the magnetic pin type well they can rust up or even the grease in them can freeze up and stop movement. also on some models there is a auto mode this will activate the spoiler at certain speeds. these are prone for failure, for some reason they stop reading the speedo , then in auto or in manual it will not work. also in cold weather you should have it turn'd off... this is recommended from porsche something about only use in above temps of 6.0c 42.8F is minimum low temp. the temp sensor on some turn off the spoiler controls at this speed or a faulty temp sensor not reading the right temp will do this.

The rear spoiler has come off from the rear of the car. i heard a strange noise and when i went to investigate it was only being held by the wire for the break light. I took it to a mechanic who removed...

If the original hardware was screwed on, then most likely the bolts rusted and broke. I would suggest to have new spoiler with hardware be installed.

If buying a new one is not within your budget, might be able to glue it on but no guarantees that it will stick for a long term.

On my 2005 Crossfire the paint is bubbling on the deployable spoiler. Is this covered under a corrosion warranty?

NO,but it is normal for the paint to bubble on some plastic trims due to their makeup/type of plastic.the corrosion warranty is not worth the paper you use in the toilet...."applicable only if the paint surface is not broken and rust has taken place under the surface of the paint layers"(how do you know if its rust without breaking the surface to see.........)

I have a 2004 Boxtster. Just got it. The rear spoiler is up.

It's supposed to be speed sensitive. It comes out past 55 mph or so. Check to see if there is a fuse for it. It should automatically go down when you start the car and put it in reverse. Good luck.

Detached spoiler

There are a few things you can do without needing too much money to repair it. First good old trick, as amazing as it seems, would be to use some good Epoxy glue as it is strong enough to glue metal to metal and plastic to metal with surprising strength. Although not all epoxys are the same and a more specialised epoxy formulated for car repairs will help. The best bet to go and get some will be to visit your local parts store and ask their expert if they have any epoxy specially made for metal and plastic. The other quick solution would be to get yourself 2 to 4 self tapping metal screws depending on the size of the spoiler's post and how much good plastic there is left on it to screw into. I would suggest using at least some household bathroom silicone though and put some between the spoiler's post and the trunk lid to seal the old OEM screw holes so that you don't end up with a swimming pool in your trunk. Then just screw the self tapping metal screws from inside the trunk lid being careful to align the screws at the right place so not to just make another useless hole next to the spoiler. A good trick to lign up easily enough will be to use the old screw holes as guides, or if you want more precision, you can also measure the width and length of the spoiler's post and trace the dimensions inside the trunk lid with a tire crayon or something similar using the screw holes as guides again, as it will be easy to wash it off once you are done.

How do you replace the brake light on the rear spoiler on a 2001 Hyundai Accent?

This is the Spoiler Dude. The spoiler light is attached with screws to the spoiler. You must remove the screws and then the spoiler light will come away from the spoiler. Clip the two wires ( Black & Red ). Attached the new spoiler light ( I can get that for you) with a sleeve. Test the new light with the brake pedal depressed. Screw in the new light and that is it. If you have any questions.
