What year model is this vin no please ZX 600E004957 thank you

No make or model stated, just engine size and that it's diesel. VIN Number is no use to anyone apart from a car theft ring.

All vehicle questions need 'year make model'.

Are you sure this is the VIN number? A motorcycle VIN has 17 digits in it so the number you have isn't long enough and should contain more letters. The VIN is stamped on the right hand side of the steering tube that the pivot for the forks goes through.
The 10th digit letter is the year code for that bike.
*Note* The date given is the date of manufacture NOT the date it was first registered for road use. Another issue is that anything before 1980 may not have a date letter.
You can sometimes get a general idea of the bikes age by how it actually looks. The styling has changed over the years so that might give you an idea of which generation it is.

The stock battery is Yuasa brand, YB14L-A2. Be sure to keep the water level in the battery above the top of the plates in each cell. Also, check the voltage across the battery terminals while the bike engine is running around 2500rpm. The voltmeter should read around 14.5 volts. Go to the above lnk and type in your entire VIN. You have only displayed 13 digits only of 17.

The engine number will not give you what you need. The VIN is the key. You will find the VIN number stamped into the center steering stem that the forks attach to. Call a Yamaha dealer with the VIN and they can tell you what year and model of bike you have.

Go to the site below for a free service manual download. The very first manual in the Kawasaki section MAY be the one you want. There are several in the list. Get the closest to your year. The wiring doesn't change much so off 2 or 3 years will probably not matter.
