Battery doesn't charge

I have a schwinn s500 scooter and the battery doesn't charge. The fuse looks good, the light on the charger is lit, don't know what is wrong. How do I know if I need a new battery?

You could test the battery using a voltmeter. If you dont have one available you can make a good guess by the age of the battery. Batteries that are used seasonally often only last 2 years, and even less if they are stored without being fully charged. You can find a new battery at http://www.batteryinternational.com/electric-scooter-batteries-schwinn.html

Battery charging and running issue

hi, you say you replaced the batteries , but there could be other factors involved here...

Firstly don't run it with the charger plugged in , you can damage everything ...

1. the charger socket or related wiring to the batteries is either faulty or too higher a resistance...

I have new batteries and charger but batteries will not charge

If your battery is totally flat some chargers see this as connecting to a short and will not charge. If the battery has a charge run it down some, my batteries often don't take much of a charge if any. Does the charger light up.Does the charger have any fuses on its out put wiring. Open the charger up, do you see fuses. When the charger is on do you see any blinking lights. If you get a blinking yellow light when hooked to a battery there is something wrong with the battery. Hope this helps

HOW DO I CHARGE A MERITS DMA SCOOTER?

With the battery charger lol I don't know if your scooter has the battery pack or not but if it does there should be a charger port located on the battery pack just plug the charger into the port and let it charge overnight. If it doesn't have the battery pack then there should be a port located on the tiller usually under the throttle levers Hope this helps

My Schwinn S-180 scooter won't charge

Check your charger with a meter and see if it is putting out the correct voltage for your scooter battery. If it is, you probably need a battery, probably so anyway after 2 years. Good luck!

I have a schwinn missle fs and it has new batteries. i put the charger on it to charge and the charger light says it's charged but it's not. What could be the problem?

I've never worked on a Schwinn battery-powered scooter, but I'll weigh in--I'd check that the batteries are properly connected to the scooter. The charger may be connecting to the batteries, which are charged, but if the batteries aren't connecting to the motor, you're not going to go anywhere.

The only other thing I can think of to check is for blown fuses. Good luck.

Schwinn S180 won't charge

NashvilleDan, this scooter has 2 12v 10 amp batteries in series, you should read over 24 volts at the charging hub if the batteries are good. I would think that if the scooter sat for over a year you have bad batteries, They can be purchased at battery plus.

Not sure if this will help... however an altmeter will allow you to test along your electrics for any faults. You can check at the lights for example and throught the system.
