Seat wont open when turning the key - 2006 Yamaha Jog R

It needs to be re-adjusted. To get the latch to unlock you will have to use a screw-driver while turning the key at the same time.

someone moved the switch in the or should i say on the trunk lock itself to disable the trunk release from inside, SO...



Bottom of seat where your Butt goes, Has to be pushed hard to the rear bumber from the front on both side driver and passenger in the rear to disengage the rear catch then the rear seat comes up,





Next you should see 2 screws at the bottom of the back rest remove them and lift the back out, then your going to need a long screw driver or extensions for ratchet to unbolt the lock from the inside and that should be that,? Have fun.

Without pushing the ignition key in when turning it left from off position, lift the back of the seat while turning the key left. I have found the seat release spring under the seat gets weak, so you have to lift it manually. If you push the key in while turning it, it may bypass the seat release and lock the steering. sounds like debris in lock try flushing lock out with WD40 or PB Blaster then try make sure no burrs on key

TRIED USEING A COAT HANGER THIN PIECE OF METAL BEND IT TO SHAPE AND CATCH LATCH/PRY OPEN REPLACE LATCH AND OR SEAT ETC.

No. not unless you break it. Shoot some wd40 in there and run the key in and out a few dozen times to loosen everything up. Shoud do the trick.

Try some lock cleaner\ lubricant, use liberally, press down gently on the seat locking latch. If that doesn't work try shocking the mechanism with my favorite tool, a rubber mallet. If the key turns that part of the mechanism works. Put the key in to the release position. Go to where the latch is, use a bright light, see if the latch is engaged, Usually this kind of lock uses a hook latch. The hook is literally apart of the key barrel so if the barrel moves the latch hast to be moving too. Check the chair itself that its not stuck. WARNING Lubricate with pure silicon spray only it wont stain your chair. Lub all rotating joints and see if you can move it.

By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good,with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.

I have a 2003 camry had the same problem. My solution was to raise the drivers door handle then turned the key and then it opened.
