My bike sat for about 2 months without being started. When I cranked it the F1 red light was on. I only had a small amount of gas in it so I ran the **** out of the bike for about 20 minutes and then went and refueled with some 93 octane. The light went off. I rode it directly home (approx 1 mile) I started the bike today and the light was back on.

May 15, 2021 - 2007 gsxr 600. I changed clutch cover due to being broken. Put new oil in. Won't start. Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your bike yourself ...
Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to correct category.
apparently, it is 'FI' not F1 and stands for Fault Identification. It is the same as the engine light on a car. A code scanner, or 'Dealer Mode' tells the fault.
Pput your bike in dealer mode (search "dealer mode"), FI Not F1, means Fault Indication. This is your ECM telling you there is something wrong. Dealer mode will give you a code, ie. C46 = EXCVA malfunction. When you get the code, we can help you, without the code it's all guess work, just like Mickking just did. If the FI goes away, put it in dealer mode and ride it around, it will most likely come back and will be displayed right there in front your face.
Clean or replace air filter..then if the doesn't do it, go to Autozone and purchase a can of Sea Foam fuel treatment and pour in 1/3 can to 2 gallons of fuel, purchase or clean up your fuel filter and then dump out the fuel in it, now pour some Sea Foam into the filter and then start it up. if it doesnt start up, then push start it, and get on it and go! Ride for about 10-15 miles on and open highway where you can get on it occasionally to let the stuff work its way through the fuel system. If this did not fix it, then check all your vacuum lines, spray around the carb areas and lines with some carb spray, if the rpm increases ..then theres your problem. Can you rate this! thanks
f1 on gsxr stands for fuel injection, unless bike keeps stalling ignor it.my 04 did it all the time , ithink mainly when in slow moving traffic in the wrong gear.
The FI light is letting you know there is a problem with the Fuel Injection system on the bike. You will most likely need to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it with their computer. You can check your fuses and make sure they are intact, but most likely dealership problem.
Most sports bikes are limited to 300km/h by the manufacturers in an effort to be responsible.
Actually the ? was about the 1000 not "most sport bikes". The Suzuki gsxr1000 for 2007 is rev limited to 184 mph. U do the math to figure out kph but in the U.S. who cares about the metric numbers.
