Bike is stalling out at 1000 rpm's... runs fine when going down the road but when you down shift it wants to stall out. Thought might be water in the gas so added heet with no luck.

Thinking the power commander is acting up. Any ideas??

SOURCE: 99 HD softail stalling problem

If this is occuring everytime you ride the bike and always when it gets warm. I would think there is a good chance that the sensor in the timing cover is getting hot and then developing a short. You can replicate this synario by taking a hair dryer and warming the cam cover around the timing plate, if the bike wont start after warming the timing cover then you have a bad ignition sensor plate. if the bike still starts you can also try the same technique with the ignition module itsself which should on that model be located behind the battery. heat causes shorts in those 2 items quite often. try it out and let me know what happened.

if it is open loop ( O2 sensors) check the sensor condotion, connections etc.

Reload the files onto the Power Commander, insure they are the exact files for your ride, the wrong files can affect operation and gum up the O2 sensors.

SOURCE: 06 Road King Classice shuts off when in 4th gear beloe 50mph

It's normal for the check engine light to take from 0 to a couple seconds to turn off. The computer runs a system check. Put an oil pressure gauge on the bike and watch it closely. If your pressure drops when the bike loses power, the engine may be locking up from lack of oil. Another possibility is your lean-angle cut-off switch is defective. The switch cuts power to the bike in case you lay it down. Harley also has had problems with their fuel injection system losing power for no apparent reason.

I have a 2002 jeep liberty help with the tapping noise and stalling

The tapping is the valves hitting against the buyer upper part of engine. The stalling is most likely the computer shutting down engine. You might have engine damage. The tapping comes and goes according to engine rpm the higher the rpm the louder the tapping. If I was have it towed to u mechanic and have them run test engine might be beyond repair

run fault code as the transmission is not down shifting and the engine is trying to stall under load. Look for a faulty TCM unit.

1996 road king stalling while riding

Possible Intake boots leaking causing a mistfire and running lean. Make sure you run the harley plugs. Is there a power commander on it ? If you do they are known to go bad and mess up runablilty.
This may be a long shot but since you have the magnelli marelli fuel injection system , you might need a hot/cold idle adjustments and clean out the inside of the throttle body.

You do not say when it surges or stalls. You should first see how the power commander is progarmmed as it may have a problem for the mapping of a certain rpm range etc.

92 SL1 Intermitant stalling problem

Fuel pump,Fuel pump, Fuel pump,,, high mile cars will always out live their fuel pump. The stalls will become more frequent. But first change fuel filter if it has one outside the fuel tank, if it has it in the tank just replace the pump at the same time. Also next time when it stalls bang the bottom of the tank with your hand and try starting.
