SOURCE: Replaced positive battery cable + spark=bike will not fire up
I am afraid to make assumptions as to what else you have checked due to some negative feedback. Did you LOAD check the Battery? Did you check and clean your grounds? If you have done all of that the next logical problem is the solenoid, which can be rebuilt.

First check is for power (a voltmeter or test light) at the solenoid terminal that connects directly to the battery. If no power, the battery connection is bad or the cable is open. If ok, test the starter motor terminal for power when the starter button is pressed. If you get power, the starter motor is bad--likely brushes or broken wiring somewhere inside. If no power, then the heavy contacts in the solenoid are in bad condition. If it has a sealed case, it must be replaced. If you can get into it, an eroded contact can be built-up with silver solder (from a welding supply) (the higher the silver content, the better the repair) and shaped with a file. Good luck!
