May 15, 2021 - 2007 gsxr 600. I changed clutch cover due to being broken. Put new oil in. Won't start. Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your bike yourself ...
if you have replaced cap and rotor plus coil and it seemed to fire up then i would take the next step. For sure put your new plugs and wires on then make sure you have replaced your air filter, and change out your fuel filter, fire up the vehicle if it doesn't start I would suggest changing the fuel pump. If it starts up make sure you put in some BK fuel injector cleaner in your fuel it might be you have dirty injectors. If all fails then get back with me and we will look else where. Good luck hope this info helps you out
Just because you have a visible spark doesn't mean that you have a viable ignition spark. The chances are, you have either failed plugs or failing leads.
Here the good thing and this it will make it easy, The reason for that jumping tach meter tells you that there is spark and no fuel. Without fuel the spark KV voltage is 30kv. and it report to the tach. So you got spark and no fuel. If you had fuel the tach will show during cranking little tiny, tiny movement that you wont even see. So do this turn the key in the run position cycle it do you hear a humming noise from the rear you should that is the pump, they are sort of loud, If you dont you'll need a fuel pump. Even if you heard the fuel pump the fuel delivery may be low of pressure to start the engine. by the way try this have some one crank it and you hit the bottom of the tank may be you can shock it back.
does your bike have a kickstand switch...maybe hitting the speed bump caused the stand to move and killed the engine...also i think your bike has a tilt switch under the seat near the gas tank not real sure on the location but it just sounds to me like what would happen if you hit the kill switch...just throwing out some ideas let me know it it helped.
This is an interesting problem, firstly did it start doing it after fill-up? if so you could have got a dose of bad fuel, simple drain and refill should have it going OK, don't forget to drain the whole fuel system. Secondly check to see if any vacuum lines have come off, if this is the case listen for any light hissing noises and chase it out. Thirdly Check you spark plugs for fouling and any cracks in the insulators, it could also be a coil breaking down.
