More likely to be a fuel line blockage. Remove fuel pipes from tank to pump and blow through with an air line. Old fuel can turn to jelly and when tank is drained the jelly enters the pipe and blocks it. So before you waste money on a pump check out the simple, less expensive alternatives.

Ran it out off gas, refilled it now runs rough

very likely that there was some trash in the bottom of your fuel tank and as it pulled the last bit of gas through it could have clogged the fuel filter, of the carburetor. Without knowing the make and model its possible there is no fuel filter some push mowers have a straight fuel line to the carb. If that is the case, on the bottom of the carb there is a bowl most mowers it has a bolt in the bottom middle of the bowl I would remove the bolt and drop the bowl, clean with a wire brush and carb cleaner and reinstall the bowl. I believe that will most likely solve your problem. If it doesn't or you have any questions please leave a comment I would like to help you resolve your problem!

Masada pu ran out of gas will not only if i prime, for a few seconds

Fuel pump is not running (if electric) or floats stuck. Outside of those, hole in fuel line, possibly even line in tank. My old one had a sight glass on the float bowl where you could see if fuel was in it.

I have a sears 247 889571 24" snow blower. Start fine. Runs rough, like the choke is on. Choke is off. Fresh gas (ran it dry last spring). Ran 1 tank through with it running very rough. Just as it ran out...

You ran it dry at some point. Gas tanks collect crud and water at the bottom over time and this may have been sucked up into the fuel filter or carb. Clean or replace fuel filter, then remove and carefully strip apart and clean all parts of the carb be gentle with brass and any moving parts in the carb, clean with plastic tools.

Engine won't start, doesn't seen to be getting gas.

Potential 'air lock' - try running with out fuel tank cap on
Cap should have a fine breather hole in it

Toro 20624 mower runs rough

Remove float bowl from carb. Ensure gas flows with float hanging down. Ensure gas flow stops with float pushed up.. Remove float and meter needle. clean passage way were meter needle is inserted with a bread wrapper wire, with 1 in of plastic peeled off it, wire should be observed behind choke flap when fully inserted thru passage way. Replace float and meter needle. Clean float bowl. Observe float bowl screw, look to see if it has a hole thru it, if so clean with wire. Reinstall float bowl. Try to start.

I have a John deere 316 with a onan and it will not run unless the choke is almost closed, I have checked the fuel flow and the compression and all seems good. What do you think is wrong?

hello sir, mower will not start or run, runs only when primming, does it have good spark, good compression,or only runs on full choke, are you getting fuel to the engine if not try this, your fuel pump or your carb. is clogged up here is what you can do for a simple repair for the carb, you can remove the air filter and assy, empty fuel tank and clean out tank and line, remove the bowl nut and bowl careful of the gaskets, now spray carb cleaner in the small port holes in the carb steam in the middle of the carb until clean, now spray the bowl nut holes until clean there are three, after cleaning put bowl on the same way you removed it with dip towards front of float, put bow, and fresh gas,you should be good to go,hope this helps.,thank you.~~

94 kawasaki bayou 400 not geting gas priming pump dont get hard

Lets start with the basics. Is the gas valve turned on? Do you have plenty of gas in the tank. If not, turn the gas valve to the "reserve" position if your valve has a reserve setting. There may be a water trap bowl at the base of the gas valve. Turn the valve off and remove the bowl if you have one and then clean and replace it.

Next, drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine.
If the bike doesn't start after a couple of minutes then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the two screws on the outside of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put each screw back in the hole it came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each screw one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

Pleas rate this as " FixYa " if my solution works. Thanks

8 HP Briggs won't run.

Hi First check compression.Turn the switch on OFF position.Remove the sparkplug.Put your thumb at the sparkplug hole and opperate the starter. If the compression preassure blows your thumb off the hole the compression is adequate for the engine to run.In your situation if the generator has good compression there is a fuel delivery problem to find and fix.Check and clean the carb, fuel lines, fuel filter, gas cap tank vent(not to be clogged),check the air filter. If you need any other suggestions feel free to ask.Merry Christmas! regards savumihai71
