You've jump started your battery, but not charged the battery. When you rev it, the ignition system is draining more power than the flat battery can give. You need to leave the battery on charge overnight to give it a good charge. If the battery doesn't recover following an overnight charge, it may have droped a cell, and will require replacement. But before you replace it, give it an overnight charge.

Hi Did you leave the jumper battery hooked up while it was running? It sounds like the dead battery may need to be replaced. Jump it again and leave the jumper battery hooked up and then see if it runs ok. If it does run good you will need to replace the battery. I hope this helps. Rod

How do I start my tahoe after leaving key in ignition and security feature shut off all power

Did you try jump starting the vehicle?

If you left the key on all the accessory functions where on and this will cause the battery to go dead overnight. Jump starting to see if the vehicle will start is a good way to determine if the battery did go dead. Depending on how old the battery is it may have gone bad by letting it go dead overnight. If its more than a few years old it may not be a bad idea to just replace it.

1998 Olds Cutlass- My gauges were moving around very quickly when I turned the ignition. It won't start now and sounds like the battery is dead, but it's not. My gas gauge has spun around and sits under...

HiYour battery is not fully charged, jump start vehicle and take it to and AutoZone or similar auto parts store to have your charging/starting system checked for free.
On the gauges issue, you have to remove the instrument cluster and manually turn/reset the gas gauge. I have a 98 Olds Intrigue and happened a few times. I pull the gauge needle out and set it where it would be if the key where OFF, then plug the electrical connector on the cluster and turn the key to ON to verify gauge positions, on my case, I had to reset the temp. gauge too.
Good Luck! Don't forget to rate this post!!

Bike lost all power while riding. Lights, guages, and everything else. Stayed operational for a little while, then started backfiring very bad, and finally left me on the side of the road. The battery...

it is most lightly the stator or voltage regulator in your charging system not charging your battery while running, thus runs the battery dead. If your battery is completely drained, which usually is the sign when you have no lights and backfires and the battery has no juice left to support the spark plugs, and finally gives up, and thus won't take a jump. This is a common problem. Battery needs to go on a charger and fully charged before you can conduct any electrical output test from the stator or voltage regulator. Just happened to me again this week. Hope this helps.
