While driving the bike suddenly shut down. The fuel gauge and lights do come on when the ignition is turned on. The battery is fully charged and all fuses including the main are intact. Thoughts on the problem?
When it shuts off while driving, a vacuum in the gas tank can built up when the gas cap is restricting ventilation.
The power regulator may be at fault as well. Have you checked the ignition coil for power? Is it going to the spark plugs?
Testimonial: "I don't believe it is a vacuum issue as all power shut down including headlights, indicator lights and the digital gas gauge. I checked that there is power going up to the master fuse. Where is the ignition coil located?"

Check the voltage across the battery with the engine running - it should be greater than 13.5V.
If less, then you have a failure in your charging system, either the stator and/or the Rectifier/Regulator.
See this personally authored diagnostic guide on how to determine which part is defective. Also has a recommendation for excellent replacement as opposed to std OEM.

You need to buy a volt meter and set it on 10, or 20 v-. Start the bike and see what it says. A good charging system will show 13-14+ volts. If the meter says 11-12 volts or does not change, you have a bad stator, or rect/reg. Take to a shop to have it further tested. Chaz Moto DC

I mistakenly wrote that the lights do come on. It should have said "don't come on."
