Google " motorcycle salvage kawasaki " You should be able to find a good used CDI there. I checked and found a new CDI is in stock at Babbit's. $326.00.

97 grand am 2.4 motor in a 99 cavalier z24

As long as you can get it bolted to the engine somewhere it should work OK. I hope thats all the difference between those 2 engines. ?????

Almost always, your described problem indicates that the fuel inlet valve(s) are not closing properly either because of float height or because of a foreign matter lodged between the valve and the port.
