Ditto, also check your radiator fan relay. The carpet under the driver's footwell should be dry... if it's wet, the heater core matrix is shot and will prevent the coolant water circuit from pressuring; making your car overheat.

SOURCE: LOW BEAM LIGHTS ON 2009 FORD ESCAPE VERY POOR.

If the headlights are adjusted properly and it is still too dim to see properly, you can add a set of driving lights. A high quality set from PIAA or other high end lighting manufacturers will cost $200-$300, but it is well worth the investment. You can also swap the headlamp bulbs for a more powerful set, ask the parts store.

If your lights are shining at the ground right in front of the vehicle, I would suspect that they are out of adjustment and you should take the vehicle to a shop that can accurately align them.

SOURCE: I own a 2002 Ford Escape V6 and the EGR keeps

I will try to help. Has the "check engine light" come on at all? There are 2 main reasons for a hole. Too much heat from not opening or excessive manifold pressure. Do you get backfires?
What I can suggest is to replace the EGR and connect a "T" fitting to the vacuum line and temporarily run a vacuum gauge to the interior. Then you can monitor if the EGR is even getting a vacuum signal.

If it destroys yet another EGR there must be a burn through inside the manifold and you will need another manifold.

SOURCE: 2002 Ford Escape V6 XLT, problem w/ initial start in cold weather

Does the engine crank but just not start? Or... are you cycling the ignition switch without trying to crank the engine? Based on the information you have given, I would first guess that the fuel pump may be going out. I say this because when you first turn the key on the pump primes the engine with pressurized fuel. If the pump is getting old, it may take a few power cycles to get it going. You can test this theory by having somebody listen near the rear of the car while you turn the key on for the first time. The fuel pump make a faint, yet distinctive high pitch noise that can be heard when you turn the key on. Try that first. Next thing you would try is checking the relays for proper function... starting with the fuel pump relay. Good luck.

SOURCE: How do you replace the EGR on a 2002 ford escape?

To replace the the spark plugs on the V6, you'll need to remove the intake manifold. There is a coil on top of each plug (COP). Check this website for info:

The same link will also show the R&R of the EGR valve.

SOURCE: rotten egg smell from exhaust; vehicle only has

sulfur smell is almost always the catalytic converter, it's not old enough to need one but that doesn't mean it's not bad. i've seen other GM products with the same problem, take it to a muffler shop and get it tested.

Use of recommended oil viscosity (5w-20)

I ask that same question about my 2007 and was told that the main reason for the lite oil weight was to give better gas mileage. Still though I never changed because I got over tinkering with the manufactures specs. in my hot rod days. Stay with the 5-20W.
