If you buy the pinion you also have to buy the rest. Also on the axle is a circlip wich you must use. Otherwise the Carter where the axe is going in will be worn out. That is a problem if the starter is not working. They use the kickstarter to much. Its only a help not a thing to use each day. The parts for this are here. Unfasten the kickstart by loosening the bolt head of the pin that attaches the kickstart to the outside of your scooter's variator case. This will allow you to pull the pin and remove the kickstart.

Remove the outer face of the variator system. On most scooters, this faceplate is attached to the variator case with six bolts.
check first if spark plug working you can see spark light on it upon kickstart. then proceed with the gas carburetor if gas intake working and not stuck. if no power goes to spark plug trace the source. first the cdi then the ignition coil and the voltage regulator.
