Depend on what engine it is. If it is the serial number you're looking for, it's usually on a machined flat surface of the block. On Chevys it's near where the bell housing bolts on. What kind ov vehicle are you referring to. Year and make, and engine size would be a help.

Where do I find the engine number on a 2014 Rav4

In a 2014 Toyota RAV4, you can typically find the engine number stamped on the engine itself. Here's where you can commonly locate it:
  1. Engine Block: The engine number is often stamped or engraved on the engine block. You may need to look around the engine block, typically on the front or sides, near the cylinder head or the engine mount.
  2. Owner's Manual: Sometimes, the engine number is recorded in the vehicle's owner's manual or maintenance booklet. Check these documents to see if the engine number is listed.
  3. Vehicle Registration Documents: In some regions, the engine number may be recorded on the vehicle registration documents or title. Check these documents for the engine number if it has been previously documented.
  4. Under the Hood: Occasionally, manufacturers may place a sticker under the hood that contains information about the vehicle, including the engine number. Look around the engine compartment for any stickers or labels that may display the engine number.
If you're having trouble locating the engine number, consult the owner's manual or contact a Toyota dealership for assistance. They can provide guidance on where to find the engine number specific to your vehicle.

Where can i find the engine number of a mazda mpv lx and how many digits is it

Are you needing the engine family number, the engine serial number, or the engine size? There should be an emissions label under the hood that identifies the engine size and probably will also identify the engine family number. Finding the engine serial number will be a bit more difficult though.

Is it possible to use chassis number to trace the engine number of a car? Is it also possible that some cars does not come with engine number?

Every engine has numbers. Using the chassis number won't match the engine number if the engine has been replaced.

Where is the engine vin number , one for engine, not auto, on new Chevy factory 503 engine just installed in my 2000 Silverado truck.

contact the manufacturer factory for this one as they may not stamp the number until sold. I faced this problem on a brand new still in the box v8 engine from international factory and to get around it I just stamped the old engine number on the block and ground the number of the old block
