Yes of course you can alls you need is a small hook tool like dentists use and just pull it out ps.when replacing the new seal wind a small piece of electrical tape around the splines so not to damage the new seal and also dab some oil on the inner lip to help locate ( I usually tap them home with a long reach socket so they locate square ....hope this helps .....goose

I have a 1984 honda big red atc 200es I just got from a family member its been sittin for about 2 years so far ive totaly cleaned the carb made sure everything looked brand new inside and out it still...

Hey Anon,
Cleaning a carb is not an easy undertaking,, there are several tiny passages, tiny jets, and the needle/seat assy, If you are not trained to know these.. you may not get the carb as clean as it needs to be... Install a new spark plug... a new air filter.. and get a qualified pro to clean and set the carb.

I'm leaking trans fluid or gear oil from the gear shifter shaft that goes into the trans case.Is there an o-ring or oil seal on the other side of the case? And how do I get in there without messing...

There is a lip seal at the shift shaft that probably needs to be replaced. Sometimes that seal can be removed without pulling the shift shaft. Remove the shifter and degrease the area around the shaft.Carefully drive a wood screw into the seal, taking care not to go too deep (1/4" or so). Install another screw directly across from the first, take a pliers and each hand and pull. You may have to move around the seal in several positions to get it out. The new seal can then be installed with a deep well socket after cleaning the area. Remember to grease the insde lip of the seal before installation.
If you can't get the seal out with the wood screw trick, you'll have to pull the shift shaft. This isn't that big a job but I would recommend the factory repair manual. Generally the shift shaft can be removed after removing the right side engine cover and pulling it thru the motor. Good luck!

2004 CRF 100 shift lever seal leak

Yes. Once you remove the engine cover and expose the shaft and seal, carefully pry the old seal out with a small flat blade screwdriver. Apply some grease to the inside diameter of the new seal, slide it over the shift shaft (clean it first) - and press it in place.

I have an oil leak at the gear shifter how do you replace the rubber seal 1995 honda goldwing se craig

Putting it bluntly, remove the case cover, pry the old seal out any way you can without buggering up the case then slide a new seal onto the shift shaft and seat it in the cavity. The only other way is to remove the shift shaft and then pry out the old seal. Sort of the same thing but a bit more mannerly.

Oil leak on gear shifter shaft

You will want to remove the cover then use a light plastic hammer and a small punch to remove the seal. It should come out very easy. Install the new seal evenly.
