Cleaned connectors bought a new battery
There are usually two reasons why a battery will not stay charged after of course changing the battery.the most common cause is a faulty regulator/rectifier this electrical component regulates the voltage from the generator to around 12.8 - 14.4 volts ,it also rectified the current from ac to dc so it can charge the battery.the other reason is a faulty (usually burnt out) generator .I would try and borrow or buy n.a. regulator 1st as its the cheaper option.you can test the yellow wires from the generator with a ohms meter it should measure the same resistance between all the yellows if it's ok.good luck
Check with a multmeter if the two poles generator gives the required voltage must be no less than 12.8-13.0 volts at increasing speed and includes stop lights and headlamp reach values do13.8-15.0 volts maximum. If give more than 15,0 volts or small than 12.5 change relay rectifier.

• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer
than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and
carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel
that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue
you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether
that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much
less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a
tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?
• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has
fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.
• If your bike has a vacuum fuel valve, then you'll also need to set the valve to "Prime".

-check the fuse right hand side below the fuel tank and seat, see if it is blown.
- Check to see if plug has spark, replace if necessary .
- Did you run the bike with a low battery before replacing it? could be that your stator is shot.
-Is bike trying to start but won't?

Yes, there will be additional power. There is one problem to consider. Chances are the starter may not perform well at trying to turn the engine over against the added 50cc compression. Check with other big bore owners. An alternative would be staying at 250cc and getting a race cam. The cam would out power the bore kit by far. You just remove the current cam and send it to a company in California and they alter your cam for racing. This is what the pros do. Check it out on the website below. www.webcamshafts.com Neither you or I can give them degree angles for rise or duration or any other spec they may need, so you just need to tell them what type of racing you do (street, track, quarter mile etc ), and what you want from the cam; take off from the line, top end speed, torque, etc.. Basically, tell them you just want to wax anyone dumb enough to challenge you.
