Good day and welcome to Fixya!
The clutch may need replacement. It must be sticking on gears that's why it won't go. This can be a cause of a worn out clutch.
Hope this was helpful and thank you for using Fixya!

Many YZF 600's have a problem with second or third gear, under heavy accelleration they will jump in and out of gear, the fix is in the gear selectors,an internal box problem.
If it is a clutch problem, ride in top gear at 100kl\hr and give the clutch lever a flick, see if it grabs or slips for a while and then takes up.

THE OPERATION OF THE CLUTH ON HIS MODEL IS OF CABLE TYPE, IF THE CLUTCH IS OPPERATING CORRECTLY THE 1ST THING TO CHECK WOULD BE THE CABLE, REMOVE THE CABLE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PULL THE INNER WIRE SMOOTHLY TO AND FRO, IF YOU NEED TO USE ALOT OF EFORT TO DO THIS THEN YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE CABLE,MAKING SURE YOU HAVE ADEQUIT FREE PLAY AT THE LEVER WHEN RE FITTED. OBSERVE THE ROUTE THE CABLE TAKES BEFORE REMOVAL AND REPLACE IN THE SAME WAY, YOU MAY ALSO TRY TO GET SOME LITE OIL DOWN THE CABLE, THOUGH I SUSPECT THIS WILL BE ALMOST INPOSSIBLE IF IT IS THIS TIGHT TO OPPERATE

The Clutch on some bikes will disengage the starter motor. Yamaha will not allow you to engage gear when the side stand is down. Hope this gives you some idea

Dead clutch lever

http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-yzf-r6mmc-2000_model10891/partslist/

The clutch cable actuates an axle with a gear at the other end. This gear bears against step gears on the thrust rod, which pushes against clutch. Make sure there is a circlip at BOTH ends of this axle. When replacing cover, ensure axle is returned fully with handlever out, and spring is in place on actuating fulcrum of the axle. Thrust rod must bear against roller bearing of the clutch pressure plate. Make sure step gears engage at first tooth when operating handlever. The above link provides an exploded view of the entire bike in appropriate sections as an aid.
Cheers.

I've a yamaha yzf-r6. Problem- Lost all drive in any gear!!!??

It could actually be that the countershaft sprocket has stripped-out the splines that engage it to the countershaft. Take off the cover and have a look at the sprocket. Hopefully it is only the sprocket that is damaged and not the transmission shaft that it mounts to.
Another possibility is that the clutch cable has somehow gotten waaay out of adjustment. Just feel the clutch lever; you should have some free play at the lever. In other words, the first 1/4" or so of lever movement should do nothing except take up a small amount of slack in the cable.
Are you sure it is actually going into gear? Or have the splines on the shift shaft stripped-out? These are the things I would check first. If it isn't one of these, then I predict some major transmission work is in your future.

Power Loss at around 3000 rpm

are the carbs balanced correctly and are you sure that all of the jets are clean. if not try it, it might work. sluggish throttle response is normally to do with the carbs.
