Volvo security systems will cut off power to the starter motor if triggered. Sounds more like you have a bad crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. They are what triggers the ECU to turn the coils on and off. Alarm is NOT your problem.

SOURCE: Alarm siren and sunroof not working. Replacing alarm siren did not fix it.

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

2000 s80 t6 interior lights alarm and sunfoof stop working ?

The alarm siren has failed. The alarm siren and sunroof module are on the same communication circuit. If you remove the right front wheel fender liner you can unplug the siren module and see if the sunroof begins working normally.

If it does, replace the siren.

There were quite a few of the earlier s80s that had the power wire trapped under the bolts for the survivors and/or dome lamp assy. If you've had anything out interior wise start there first.

How do i disable the alarm siren on a volvo s80 as it goes of all the time ?

It is on a system that cannot be disabled. The siren has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Check your dealer for a new siren. The odds of finding a good one in a salvage yard are very slim.

I had my alarm system service required how i know that is the siren? also i have service need i all ready did the service how to reset the it?

The person(s) who serviced your alarm should be able to tell you if you have siren or horn type.. We have NO idea what alarm system you have..Volvo has many alarm systems. Ti reset you service light you need an OBII scanner - You can have any good shop or auto parts store do it for you.

I had the same problem on my 04 XC90 - apparently it is a common failure... You need to replace a Siren module.

I can't get my sunroof to close. my message board

Most likely the alarm siren module has failed. The alarm module is wired in series with the sunroof module. If the alarm siren fails (and it does) it will take the sunroof module offline with it.

What I would do is to unplug the module and cycle the key. If it is the siren module the sunroof will work. If it still doesn't work then it could be a wiring problem and would need to be taken to a trusted shop for repairs.

Here is a link to a website that will show detailed instructions on how to remove the alarm module.

After the module is disconnected you may need to reinitilize the UEM. Get in the car and shut the door.

For most you can turn the key on and off, then lock and unlock the car with the remote.

For others just lock and unlock the car three times.

I hope this helps.

Volvo s80 alarm

Have the codes read out for the vehicle. It is likely that the siren for the alarm is causing the false alarm. If the siren is bad, there will be a code set in the central electrical module. (CEM)
