Bike shuts off while riding

I have a 2001 Suzuki Sv 650S, it will shut off while iam ridng the bike. i have new magneto, and rectifier, due to a chargin problem i had. i used to have HID kit installed, removed it and recommencted my original lights. my instrument clsuter will **** off while riding, like if i turned the key off, then it powers back up whiel riding. but the engine is still running when this happens. if i keep riding, then keeps doing it, until get to the point that the bike will shut off the engine also. it will start back up after, and idel fine. i have seen forums about igniton switch, so i repalced it. i ahve checked all the wiring in the bike, and fuses, all OK. have tried moving wiris while at idle, nothing happened. so now i got a used instrument clsuter, and the bike still doing the same. i really dont know what else to do with this anymore. any ideas? let me know thnx

I would suggest the ignition switch is defective, examine the connecter to the switch for signs of overheating of the plastic connector shell and wire connectors inside the shell, if it shiows signs of heat then replace the connector and the switch. If the connector is ok then replace the switch itself. You may need to find the connector in a salavage yard or check with the delaer.

Testimonial: "i have looked through the bikes entire wiring, conncetors, and they look OK. i even was moving them while the bike running, nothing changed. so then i repalced the igniton switch cylinder with new one, which comes with wire and conncetor, was a plug and play. problem still there. Thank you for your help"

No more suggestions except to ask the dealer if any Technical service letter exist for your model and year? My borher had on like yours, he still rides it and it has 12 years of use under its belt, abot 50,000 miles I think.

2001 Suzuki GSXR 600 starting trouble.

The stator is probably it..I had the same problem...After you change it the bike will run so much better. That's why it ran good with the new battery...Then it started draining it..It takes a special tool to get it out..

Sounds like the carbs need to be disasembled and cleaned. Make shure you clean all jets and readjust the float. the air/fuel screw will be 1 1/2 turns out from seat.

Clutch csae weaping

A issue with the 99~02's is that the clutch cover gets warped from the repeated heat/cool cycle associated with riding your bike. You can take some 500 or higher grit sand paper and tape it to a flat surface and then in a cicrle pattern smooth the clutch cover out. Works for some people...if it's too far out, you'll have to get a new cover.
