I was riding and I came to a stop light and my bike died and it would not turn over so I got some jumper cables and jumped it and I made it home which is only like 1.5 miles from where it died then it died again

check batt voltage when key is on. anything less than 12v = junk
check conections.
SOURCE: honda cbr 600fw not charging or is running off
sounds like a regulator...what is the voltage now? try also to trickle charge for about four to five hours...put it back in... if it starts...run the bike up to 4000 rpm and watch the multimeter...it should start to rise to about 14v then go back down to 13v, this means the regulator is doing its job to keep it from overcharging,....if it does all this, then your regulator is good! so its probably a bad battery.

The altenator combined with regulator should keep the engine running without a battery. It may run a bit lumpy but it should run.
You have either a regulator or an alternator fault.
SOURCE: CHARGED BATTERY, WENT ON RIDE,
IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ALTERNATOR MAY BE BAD OR YOU HAVE A BAD CELL IN THE BATTERY. TRY STARTING THE BIKE AND WITH A TEST METER YOU SHOULD GET A VOLTAGE OF 13.5 TO 14 VOLTS FROM THE ALTERNATOR IF THE VOLTAGE IS LOWER THEN 13.5 THE ALTERNATOR SHOULD BE CHECKED

Without knowing the age of your bike, I would say you have a fuel problem. Either your fuel filter is blocked, your fuel pump is blocked/not working or your tank is low on fuel. More seriously - it could be fuel evaporation in the inlet (usually only a problem on engines with hot carburettors).
I hope it is the easier fix and that this helps.
