New carb on wacker bs50-2i still wont start unless i pour fuel down carb

Press primer until fuel fills bulb and flows out carburetor. If no fuel in primer bulb then check connections.

Check fuel line connections by disconnecting retun line to tank (without filter) and pressing primer bulb. Fuel should draw from tank (filter), into bulb, out bulb to carb and expel out carburetor. If not the bad lines, filter, or lines not connected correctly.

With fuel primed, turn both high and low speed needles in (CW) until seated, do not tighten. Then turn needles out 1 1/2 turns for initial settings. These settings are only to get unit running. Increase idle speed setting if engine stalls. Adjust low speed, then high speed and lower idle speed back to normal.

I have a 1986 GMC 1500 with a 5.0 and stock rochester carb. The truck will start but you must keep gassing it as it won't idle. It kicks off every time. Any suggestions on how to fix this cold natured

fast idle speed screw, works off the fast idle cam which the choke adjustment sets, it works together by linkages. This is the raised idle speed setting you need to keep a cold engine running. First you set the idle speed by the idle speed screw with engine at normal operating temperature. Then you set the linkage up so the cam is on a raised step, throttle will be held on that raised step. then you can turn the idle speed screw to get idle at about 1500-1800 rpm. Now when you start engine cold, choke will set the fast idle cam on that raised step- when engine starts and runs it should be running at your fast idle setting. That's how it supposed to work, you just have to get everything adjusted right. I hate carburetors, they never stay adjusted right. Considering their complexity and small mechanical parts, no wonder.

Excess fuel consumption

I would like to know what is the running tempreature of the vehicle, if the engine is running cold at all times then the computer will dump gas thinking the engine will die, check the O2 sensors and see if they are in range, also check the fuel pressure and it should be in specs last time to look into is the fuel pressure regulator. I hope the air filter is replaced.

MY IS IDOLING VERY FAST NEED TO USE BOTH FEET TO KEEP CAR FROM MOVING FORWARD FAST

IF YOU HAVE CARBURETOR. IDLE SPEED TOO HIGH NEED ADJUSTING. CHECK ACCELERATOR LINKAGE OR CABLE COULD BE IN A BIND CAUSING HIGH IDLE SPEED.MAKE SURE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FLOOR MAT NOT IN THE WAY.CHECK CARBURETOR MOUNTING BOLTS.RETIGHTEN TO MAKE YOU DONT HAVE A VACUUM LEAK BETWEEN CARBURETOR GASKET AND INTAKE MANIFOLD THAT WILL CAUSE HIGH IDLE SPEED.IF YOU HAVE FUEL INJECTION ENGINE LET A GARAGE SET THE TIMING AND IDLE.

Car wont stay running, think its carb problem

If I understand correctly the car will idle but will not drive unless you pump the gas. If that's the case then you need to have it overhauled. There are blocked lines inside that are preventing it from working properly. Hope this helps.
