Best money you'll ever spend is getting a service manual from for example amazon, it'll walk you right through it. A person has to be careful following prescribed methods so everything inside doesn't come spilling out onto your bench.

SOURCE: foward control for 2005 super glide,

Up near the front of the downtubes of the frame, there should be a pair of threaded holes. There also should be a bracket for the shift lever and foot peg to mount on. The Super Glide uses the same frame as the Wide Glide. Just have a look at a Wide Glide for your setup. You should also have a pair of holes on the right side of the frame in the same place for the brake setup.

SOURCE: HOW DO YOU POSITION THE SHIFT LEVER ON THE SPLINED

Take out the jam bolt - drive a flat screwdriver in the crack where the bolt pulls it together to spread it apart, then position the gearshifter back on. Put the jam bolt back in and tighten.

Shifter broke

Keep your fingers crossed that it is simply a loose pinch bolt on the shift arm. To check, look closely at the shift shaft end as you move the shifter up and down. If the shift shaft is not moving with the shift lever, the pinch bolt may be loose, or more likely, the splines have worn out on the shifter due to a loose bolt. To fix, grab a 10mm wrench and loosen and remove the pass-through bolt that is on the shift lever and replace the shift lever. I provided a link to a used one on eBay for $15. If the splines on yours are good and the bolt is tight with the shift shaft moving properly, then the internal shift fork is damaged which will require a teardown. 91 Kawasaki EL 250 EL250 Eliminator SHIFT LEVER

My clutch wont engage.

you need to take the clutch cover off and inside you will find a small shaft going up to your clutch lever. If that lever is broken you will have to replace that shaft. If the clutch shaft checks out check your cable that could be broken. If it is then replace and adjust and you are good to go. Good luck on the bike

Shift shaft is broken. Do I need to split the cases to replace it?

Whether it is a four stroke or a two stroke, If you take the right crankcase cover off you should be able to access and replace the shift shaft. The mechanism is on the opposite side of the motor from the shift lever. You may have to remove the primary gear that contains the clutch pack to get the actual shift shaft assembly to slide out. The good news is you should not have to remove the engine from the frame or split the cases to do the job.

Have a saganaw 4 speed trans the input yoke wiggles at the back were it slides in to gears front bearing is good can you remove in put to check with out splitting trans thanks 1979 elcomino

If I understand you correctly you are asking if you can remove the input shaft from the transmission without taking the trans apart. Yes you can by removing the bearing cover that go's over the input shaft, There are 4 bolts that hold it on and once you remove that cover you will see the main bearing that is held onto the shaft with a snap ring clip you do not need to remove the clip to pull the shaft out. * note * there are 2 of the snap ring clips a large 1 on the outter part of the bearing and the smaller 1 on the shaft next to the bearing and both can stay on there while removing the shaft. next i would recommened to remove the side cover where the shift levers go in so that you can easily see what you are doing from the inside as well as the outside at the same time. Make sure that it is in neutral before removing the side cover as this will help when you put it back together, The reason for that is the shift forks on the inside will hit the gears and will not let you remove the cover. after that you can begin to pull slowly on the shaft to bring it out sometimes it takes a little force to get it going. Be careful as you come out with it because inside of the input shaft there are needle bearings that will fall out and that is no big deal but you will want to make sure none of them stay in the trans. These bearings are the ones that will cause the input shaft to wiggle or have back and forth play. when you replace those needle you will want to pack the inside of the shaft with wheel bearing grease to keep the new bearings in place. Good luck hope this helps.

2004 CRF 100 shift lever seal leak

Yes. Once you remove the engine cover and expose the shaft and seal, carefully pry the old seal out with a small flat blade screwdriver. Apply some grease to the inside diameter of the new seal, slide it over the shift shaft (clean it first) - and press it in place.

Shifter lever broken...

It sounds like you bent the shift fork, or at least the shaft that penetrates the case and holds the shift lever on the outside. If you are certain you are moving the shaft and the bike won't come out of first then you will have to open up the case and see what is bent or broken inside.
