Dead battery but dashboard lights still work but bike ownt start.

K my bike began shaking while I was looking for a parking space on a parking lot. When I found a space I parked my bike and when I came back it would not start. The dashboard lights light up but when I attempt to start the bike the lights go out and the bike makes a clicking sound and that's it. I asked someone to push me in 2nd gear while clutch down and it turned one but it still was shaking like if it the bike wanted to die. At home I just start the bike and I turns on naturally, but when I unplug the cables it loses power and in moments it dies again not been able to turn back on. So in 2 months my battery will be a year old. Do I need a new battery or can this one be charged? or is there a different problem ?

Try charging first if it runs ok then the battery is bad or the charging system is bad.

My sons1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the gauges light on and would not start like battery was dead. Had it jump started and it started. When he put in park it stalled jumped again and worked.

Sounds like a charging system problem and the alternator may not be working. The gauge light will come on if the charging gauge is showing low so you will look at the gauges. Have the battery and charging system tested

Battery not charging car is dead and will not start

Starting with the battery light, the warning light means the alternator is not charging the battery. It could be a faulty alternator, or a problem with the wiring between the battery and the alternator.
Normally you can drive a vehicle for several miles on the battery alone.
If you have charged the battery and it checks out ok, you would need to check the wiring from the battery to the alternator and to the fuse box for problems.

Try putting some dry gas in the tank. There could be a little water in the tank. Also try a fuel injector cleaner. Simply follow the instructions on the bottles. Good Luck!!!

Hi, I would still suspect the battery. Lights and ignition do not really draw much current neither does the bike when running.. Your battery goes almost flat when the starter is engaged lots of amps are required. Try this check: remove the battery (undo negative lead first please) then connect a high wattage bulb across the terminals see how long it takes for the bulb to dim. If the bulb is still bright after an hour re charge the battery (please use a dedicated bike charger max output 1 amp). Re-fit the battery (connect positive lead first please). If bike still does not start check starter solenoid is activating it should click when you press the start button. Hope this helps.

Dead Car

have the alternator checked for proper output.
Autozone will do it for free if you take the alternator off and take it to the store.
you were running the car on the battery until it drained all the power out of it.

New battery goes flat in single day

check for short circuits. it can be stripped wire that makes contact with the bike chassis. This can drain the battery. Also, Charging circuit may be dead (alternator and regulator).
