A 4 year old bike is too young for those kind of problems.

I would not fiddle with it, let a service tech do it. Bike is too new for driveway hack fixes.....That's just how I feel.

SOURCE: just bought a kawasaki 600

do not try starting again until oil level and water level are confirmed. I would have a mechanic take a look at it to know for sure but sounds like you may have blown the head gasket

SOURCE: i have a 2006 kawasaki valcan 500 with 2500 miles

With out getting in the middle of a hubby/wife thing, Ha, Here is what i highly recommend: Especially because the bike has only 2500 miles on it, and it is only a 500 cc, i would positively put 10/40, otherwise might not make it to the 75,000. 5-30 is ok, but designed for higher cc bikes in my opinion , and for higher mileage bikes.

SOURCE: 99 vulcan 1500 I think I over filled with oil. I have ridden about 500 miles and now it seems to be throwing some oil. After about 30 miles or so oil shows up on rightside saddle bag and some on rear

Hi the thing to do is wash your bike off remove bags and stuff that you can, then take it for a short ride and just look for the area where it is leaking.try not to ride it to fast because oil on a hot motor will blow all over making it hard to determin where it is coming from.

Why is my 2007 Nissan sentra 2.0 using 1 qt of oil every 600 miles?

More than likely u have a leaking valve cover gasket unless your seeing smoke than it might have a burnt valve guide or guides if its smoking real bad than it could have bad rings and you don't want that cause then u half to tear the motor down basically rebuilding the motor

Car has about 90,000 miles on it and all of a sudden it has begun using oil at the rate of 1 qt per 250 miles. No oil in the water, no exhaust smoke and runs smooth with power,.

go to an exhaust shop and have a smog test performed in which the hydrocarbon emissions of your vehicle will be measued. It's got to be going somewhere right. Excess oil or a vehicle running too rich will cause O2 sensors to foul out and catalytic converter the ceramic catalyst insert to break down over time which would cause further problems

2001 Toyota Highlander: Extremely high oil usage on highway, about 1 qt per 250 miles. No such problem whatsoever in the city. No oil leak on driveway. Very reproducible, so quite a mystery.

the best way to find a oil leak is to get a better look go under the car and look at the oil pan for any signs of leakage open your hood and look around the valve covers and intake for leakage these are the normal places oil will leak from first. second i would watch the exhaust for white or blueish white smoke and third i would pull the plugs to see if there is oil being burned.

Starting using oil abt 125K miles, abt 1 qt per 1200 mi. Dealer recommended repl PCV valve and hoses which we did. Repair had no effect and car now using abt 1 qt every 800 miles. No leaks detected.

is the car smoking blue or is the oil leeking out ?

if the is consuming oil by buring it while driving the faults are either :

Valve seats / Burnt valves
Piston Rings
or sump compression which can force oil into the combustion chamber causing it to burn it and expel the burnt oil via the exhaust system.

Either way, its going to pretty expensive on a 2002 5 series.

Car does not leak oil does not smoke and has good compression.but uses oil last time checked 1 qt in 500 miles 2005 ford crown vic

Hi:
Often the oil is simply getting past the small seals around the valve stems, and being burnt by the engine. You won't see smoke, because your catalytic converter burns it all up. it will eventually ruin your catalytic converter, so it might be worth fixing, rather than adding oil all the time?

Sometimes can't put first gear on, have to roll bike forvard half a metre toget it in, also some smoke coming out of front of the bike (kawasaki zx6r ninja)

The shifting problem is a bent shift fork. It will only get worse and is expensive to fix. The smoke is probably getting past a exhaust pipe gasket. When you fix the shifting it would be a good time to rebuild the top end with new pistons and rings.
