Check the ground wire, some where not even connected and install a pig tale to the battery to charge it on the scooter, if the wires are OK you need a new stater check with kymcoforum.com and look up bet and lose

SOURCE: battery keeps loosing charge- kymco cruiser 125, 2005

I had this exact same problem on a hipster 125, it was a faulty regulator module ( mounted under the seat) I also found a short circuit (somewhere) in the wiring loom between the regulator output and the chassis (probably what killed the regulator in the first place!) I cut and replaced the entire wire to save removing most of the loom and after testing reg to ensure it was dead i fitted a new one (about £60) bike charges and runs like a dream now even with fully lights approx 80% of the time. good luck

SOURCE: HI, I was asked by

Yes you can charge the battery with a battery tender, or battery charger, when the bike is sitting.

Your People S 200 requires a 12 v, 6Ah battery.

Fully charged will have 13.1 Volts
Undercharged 12.3 Volts

Most battery tenders use low amps to charge and wont overcharge your battery. It just maintains it at 12.5 Volts.
If you use a battery charger, be sure you monitor it regulary, as some models don't shut off.

i had a semilar problem on my Kymco and i found that my fuse was not making proper contact.

what i did:the fuse im talking about is the small fuse in a "bottle" like cylinder in the positive power of the battery, the conection points in this little cylinder worn out and the fuse couldnt make contact any more i took the fuse out completely just linked the wires with lugs and my bike is working fine.

Has been charging for 3 days but does not reach full charge. Now appears to be draining when plugged into charger

Sounds like a faulty charger.have you tried using another charger.have you also tried running the battery completely flat via control panel utilities.sometimes this helps the battery renew its stamina by complete discharge then doing full recharge.lastly if the charger is not faulty and you have tried full discharge and recharge cycle it could be the battery is starting to fail.it is not a good idea to leave the battery on continual charge as this can shorten its life.most batteries last between 500 to 700 recharge cycles before they start to lose their holding capacity.

My battery and it charges fie on the charger but when I hook it up it only will last couple of days then it dies. I put a volt meter on the battery while it was hooked up and revved to approx. 4,000 rpm...

Your probably only getting the battery voltage not what the alternator is putting out. Usually if the bike will start and run on a fresh battery and then dies after a few days the alternator is to blame. based on the age of your bike I'm guessing stator coil is bad.

Does the Kymco People S 200 have an alternator?

To keep things clear for you i've listed 2 things for you to check.
1.
Your bike produces its own power. It consists of a stationary stator with a (pick-up/pulse) signal generator
The rotor/flywheel is mounted onto the keyed crankshaft, and secured with a nut.

This will be on the right side of the motor, you'll have to remove a cover to get to it.

I would have this tested with an ohm meter before you remove anything.
Pulse generator coil resistance should read 70-130 Ohms.

2.
Your battery produces power to start your enegine and run some lights. After some time your battery would go dead if not recharged. Your bike has a Voltage Regulator & Rectifier built into one unit, which some people call just a voltage regulator, and some people call it an alternator.

Your above mentioned stator produces an electrical current called AC power, which probably only runs the headlights, and the rest of that AC power is converted to DC power via the Alternator/Voltage Regulator, which runs the rest of the lights and horn, etc.

Your alternator should put out 13.5 - 15.5 Volts @ 5000 rpm.
Any other reading means your Alternator is bad. Too low undercharging Too high overcharging.

Test your alternator at the battery when the motor is running.

If you need to replace your alternator, it is located under the (nose)front plastics.
Usually a 4 prong plug and one bolt securing it to the frame.

How to recharge the battery on a 2005 636 ninja?

Assuming you have just left the bike for a while and not removed a battery lead so it is flat (not the alternator is shot), then bumb start the bike and take her for a 5 mile journey, without stopping too much. Do some low speed, 3rd gear pulls to 60mph. This will charge the battery.

If it is the original battery, and it doesn't recharge after this, check the condition of the alternator and get a new battery.

Hope this helps matey :)

Car won't start. Replaced battery. worked 3 days. They said it was the alternator. REplaced with new. worked another 4 days. had it check with advance auto said battery good, starter cranking normal....

if there is no charging then its back to the alternator or the way its hooked up? did you recharge your flat battery with a mains charger after it went flat the first time? as no alternator will charge a battery from flat to fully charged,,,,even if you drove around the world none stop! the new alternator may have given up working becouse you overloaded the voltage regulator trying to recharge a flat battery witch would mean it was very week to start with?

After leaving my Sony DSC-T2 camera unused for only a couple of days the battery was flat. I recharged it fully but again it only lasted a day or two. I assumed the battery was dead and I purchased a new...

If the troubleshooting section in the back of the user guide doesn't help, I sugget getting in touch with Sony and asking them if it's normal, the only thing I can suggest in the meantime, is taking the battery out while it's not in use, or recharge it a few hours before you're due to use it. Phones get like it after a few years and with technology advancing the way it is these days, you'd expect a battery life lasting longer than a week, not a day.

Things to consider:
1. When it's off, is it off or left on standby?
2. Where did you buy both the camera and batteries from?
3. When you charge it up, do you charge it up with a half charged battery or a totally dead battery?
