a jump box is nothing more then a battery with leads on it so where are you connecting it verses the new battery you put in the bike. that doesn't make since unless you are connecting the box right to the starter motor then it be constently running the motor untill you unhooked it. check all your fuses and examine all wire harnesses for damage, burns, or any mellting.

the chain broke the countershaft!! wow that's a first.. i really hope its not made of aluminum... its not that strong a metal..i would think a hardened steel more likely, because that thing goes through the entire gearbox and to the other side where the clutch is attached. Its the main drive shaft with the front drive sprocket (countershaft) attached that were talking about...right? This will mean an entire engine case breakdown...we're talking major $$$$$$$.

you need to take the pressure off the steering, example, hold the steering just slightly off the full left or right position. Wiggle or move the handle bars slightly and try turning the key. Sometimes there may be too much pressure on the steering lock for it to move, Also some thing eles to try, try pushing down on the key as you turn it. Hope this helps.
