Original horns did not work & new horns purchased do not work - but if I put electrical tester to (single) wire and press horn on steering wheel it lights up?
Where are you connecting the tester to? If you are connecting one lead to the negative terminal on the battery and the other to the horn wire and it lights up try connecting a wire from the horn housing (bare metal) to the negative battery terminal and attach the horn wire to the horn and try it. if that works the ground path from the battery to the horn mounting place is broken somewhere. you may have to run a negative wire to the horn mounting place to make it work properly. Hope this helps.

no/ you have 2 horns your right about that but its one wire connector for each horn usually one horn on the right and the other on the left/ the horns should be slide in connector and if he cut them for one doesnt seem right/ I bet that was the problem he tried using the same wire from the original horns when he kind of grounded the horn so it would not work / but there is only one wire per horn/ Please rate my response/ Thank you very much

you may have a problem with the horn button on the steering wheel you might have to pull it apart to find the problem.....hope this helps....cheers
SOURCE: Horn won't honk from horn button on wheel. Horn
I replaced the horn relay which is located inside of fuse panel under the hood of car on the firewall, have someone push button to be able to hear a clicking sound coming out of the correct relay, then trade out relay of the same and see if horn works
SOURCE: The horn will not work
Your horn contact in the steering assembly probably uses what is called a 'slip-ring' type contact and the 'ring' which is part of the steering wheel itself may be contaminated or the stationary contact, which uses low-pressure spring material, is either worn or the spring has grown weak.
You will have to gain access to the inside of the steering wheel center section to check this.
Also, unless you have actually electrically tested the horn relay, I would check for a relay with the same part number (should be stamped into the case) and temporarily swap them.
Your security system may employ a separate relay to sound the horn when locking or unlocking.

Check the relay, if you have one, it could be the horn switch too
