This very same issue happened after a 300+ mile trip. Ran fine then would only turn over the next morning. Later that day cranked fine and made the 300+ mile trip back home no issues until last night.

Be sure the kill switch is off. Check the side stand kill switch. Sometimes they go bad and kill when up AND when down. Hopefully the problem is constant instead of intermittent. Intermittent problems are the worst to find. Both coils are not likely to go bad at once. CDI yes, coils no. How good is your battery?

sounds like you killed the starter relay. If it takes a lot to start a bike eventually the contacts can weld themselves "open" causing the starter to continue cranking which would explain the sound you heard at the red light.

There seems to be low gas level in the float chamber of the carburator.
Clean the carburator and check the float level and reset.
With the choke 'on' and if you hit the throttle it will die because there is a restriction of the air flow to the carburator.

check fuel level, u may need to check the flow of petrol to it,,Also if that does not solve you may need to service the carb and check fuel filter, air filter etc...
