Yamaha Pw80 clutch

The PW80 does not have a manual hand lever clutch, its a 3 speed semi auto. The bike will jerk and shut off when put in gear. If I put it in gear while rolling then it will work. Any ideas?

I have a 1994 Yamaha xj600 diversion when i put it on the center stand and put into first gear the rear wheel jerks and cluncks has any one got any ideas? Many thanks

yes that is normal as when you do this you are puuting the bike in gear and with the rear wheel of the ground the engine ticking over is just enough to get the rear wheel spinning but not always enough momentum hence the clunking sound of the engine
