BE CAREFUL WITH THE OIL CHOICE. SOME HAVE ADDITIVES THAT CAUSE THE CLUTCH TO SLIP, SPECIALLY WITH HIGH POWER ENGINES.

600 shadow transmission slipping. What is the cause

If the transmission is slipping then you will need to replace your clutch plates. you don't say how old the bike is, so this may not be the case. But you should check the adjustment of the clutch lever anyway.

1999 V Star 1100, clutch slips a bit at high gear, low rpm. Likely clutch plates or another part in the clutch?

Very likely clutch plates I'm afraid.

Caution here: What oil are you using? If you have used standard Auto oil in the engine, it will have contaminated the plates and this is why they will be slipping. Bike engine oil is a different formulation because the clutch is submerged in oil. What you are describing is a classic result of topping your bike up with standard car engine oil.

If this is the case, you will certainly need to replace the clutch plates.

2004 sportsman 400 4x4 shifts late and hard going into high end

polaris drives are variable speed. they only have 2 ranges plus reverse. it sounds like either the driven clutch is slipping or the trans is slipping. the gear cogs inside may not be locking in properly and the shifter rods may need adjustment.

My 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 is struggling in fifth gear, and intermittently tachs high at speeds over 55mph.

If the bike is reving high in top gear but you are not gaining speed or very little speed your clutch is slipping. This is a sign the clutch needs replaced.

Need to find out the clutch disc spec's for a 03 suzuki orzak 250

the easy way to find out if the cluch is slipping is to ride the bike in top gear pull in the cluch rev the bike up to high revs and drop the cluch if the engine dont drop in revs very fast and the revs only drop slowly its slipping if this happens check that you have a small amount of slack in the cluck cabel ie: 1/4 of an inch is ok if its to tight it will cause the cluch to slip as the engine warms up

While pulling out from a stop, the engine seems to rev. It's like the bike is slipping out of gear or the clutch is slipping. The bike has 53,000 miles on it now.

There are two clutch adjustments you can make. The easiest is under the rubber boot on your clutch cable, adjust that so you only have about an eigth of an inch of play on the lever. If that doesn't fix it the next adjustment is under the ball and ramp, lossen the clutch cable completely, remove the derby cover, disconnect the clutch cable from the ball and ramp then remove ball and ramp. You should now see a post with a slot in it, take a screw driver and snug it down then back it off about a quarter turn. Now just reassemble everything. If you still have the slipping problem you need a new clutch basket.
