SOURCE: I just changed the oil

What type of oil did you use and how much did you use.

You should have used a 10w40 or 20w-50 weight oil with no additives (if it says "energy conserving" or something similar, don't use it) due to the bikes wet clutch.

You should have used 3.6 quarts if changing the oil filer at the same time as the oil, or 3.2 quarts if changing the oil only and leaving the filter in place.

I have a complete How To on changing your oil here:
http://www.ednelson.us/blog/?p=768

It sounds like your motor may need to be looked at by a dealer, it sounds like it may be seizing due to lack of oil. The 'check oil' warning sounds like insufficient oil level. Do not start it ride it until you have it checked by a service center!

Where is the gas reserve switch on a 2006 suzuki boulavard

Hi Michael:
I don't have one handy so I don't know, but I'll help you look.
Under the gas tank there will be a fitting that has a tube on it that goes to the carbeurettor. That fitting on many motorcycles has a lever that has 3 positions: Off, On, Res.
Have a look and see if anything looks like that. Cheers.

If it is anything like to 2005 you remove the fake fuel tank left and right covers the airbox is at the front of the tank
The later models has the airbox on the right hand side behind the plastic chrome box
