A short circuit, or an accessory left turned on (i.e. alarm system or heated grips). Could also be caused by a lack of electrolyte in the battery if not properly filled before use.

Hello Jr, The fact that the battery goes dead even with a kill switch would lead me to think the new battery is defective.

2004 chev silveroda 4x4 z71 5.3 motor, has abattery drainage dead in a week and half

Probably the battery, If you don't start it any time within the week and a half. Computers in the truck stay on all the time. A new battery will drain in about 30 days. because of the computers. A shorted dome light will kill a old battery in about 2 days. Starters and alternators will kill them over night. Start it every 2 or 3 days for 5 minutes, you shouldn't have a problem.

On my 1998 olds aurora, lights are coming on blinking in the middle of the night;killing the battery; have to disconnect battery every night

Your head light switch is the only thing that is capable of turning your head lights on, so I would replace it ! On the other hand you could have a mouse living in the dash, that has chewed through some wiring and at night when it is active it causes a short to turn the lights on. But I would would start with the switch lol

Crappy battery length

One replace the battery.
2 when you get your new battery for the first time charge it for almost 24/hrs
over the next week use it till its almost dead then charge it at night from about 10 or 11 at night till you wake up the next morning. You may have killed you battery by not doing this in the first place.

Battery is always dead

This is a common problem with the Q. It uses a lot of juice to run all of the programs. There are a few things you can do to help with this problem. First, Kill all of your running programs before going to bed. You can do this by selecting Start, then System Tools, then select the Task Manager icon, then choose Menu, then "Kill All". Since you will repeat this a lot it is a good idea to save the Task Manager program as a speed dial. Second, Make sure you are not overcharging you battery. When it is fully charged, stop charging. Charge it again when the battery runs all the way down. Then repeat. This will "reset" your battery. Third, make sure you have a second battery and a battery charger. When you go to bed at night, simply replace the battery with a fully charged one. Finally, try this...keep your phone plugged in at night. Then run it all the way down before you replace the battery. Reset the battery often as you lifetime for the battery will diminish the more you keep it charged all night.

Phone won't turn on

I had to return mine to the Verizon store and they gave me a new one. This is what happened. I just received the phone from the mail brand new from the Verizon Wireless online store. However, I forgot to charge the battery when i turned it on to activate it. I did start charging it soon after though, and I dialed the *228 and hit 1 to program it. I turned it off, but I tried to turn it on later, and it wouldn't turn on. I let it charge over night, but still I was anble to turn it on. I'm thinking whatever programming was done killed the phone. When i went to the store, they put a new battery and it still wouldn't turn on. So they gave me a new phone.
