This depends on which part. Salvage yards have sets of books called Hollander Interchange Manuals that cost big bucks, but give all the info you seek. See if you can find a friend with access to a set, or beg info on individual parts from a salvage yard that might just have what you need.
Hi, easy job, if your bike is waer cooled, you dont say how old it is the old bikes were air cooled, undo all the water pipes attached to the r/h case all the water will escape, you can leave the oil inside the gearbox, if you lay the bike on its left hand side, lift the engine and block it up to make sure gear lever is not resting on the ground, as this will disengage when you remove the clutch cover on the r/hand side, undo all the fixing screws from the cover remove kickstart lever, tap the cover gently to loosen the cover and remove when loose, if the case will not come off check further for screws, sometimes hide inside water pumps etc, once you are ready to remove the cover, keep the kickstart shaft pushed inermost so that it stays located within the engine, once ready fully observe the location of spring mountins within the engine and replace the spring
Your best bet, if the bike is worth the fix, is to get the crank assembly, as the rod is part of it. You will need to split the engine cases to replace it. Not an easy job. Your rod should have some side to side movement, but no up and down play.
best place for answers there would be contact your local kawasaki dealer. or have the person that you are thinking about buying the parts from mike the inside dia. out side dia. and the total overall hight and bolt whole configureation. if it matches up then it will work. you make also check around with other parts like suzuki jugs etc. i have a ltz400 suzk. and the kawa. z400 is the exact fit and works perfect bolted right up with no mods,
Google " Kawasaki KX 80 service manual " You can down load PDF manuals for low cost or get one by ordering. You might want to check out your local library. They somtimes get manuals given to them. It has been 30 years since I have worked as a Kawasaki mechanic but I MAY ( or may not ), be able to help if you could email a clear photo of the parts you have and a clear photo of the inside of the outer case plus a photo of the right inner caseing preferably with the clutch removed.
