IGNITION SWITCH is bad... (not likely)
The BIGGEST, HUGEST... UGLIEST TROUBLE
with that
silly assumption...
Is
YOUR symptoms EXACTLY fit...
That some
NOVICE/CLOWN has swapped the
CLASSIC "
B" and "
S" at the
STARTER SOLENOID...
"B" means battery (on solid)...
"
S" means START: only HOT w/
IGNITION @ START
(
START is the momentary contact that runs your starter).

EXPERIENCED).
If you are STILL in the LEARNING stages of what a CIRCUIT & SCHEMATIC drawing looks like... register on the
BBB Industries website... and look for your circuit drawings...

TSBs).
