I have a 2008 kfx 450r and the cooling fan will not come on and the bike over heats. I checked the fan and it works. Where do I check next?

Mine had the same problem,,, just pop out the hood,,and you will find two orange boxes,,,one is for the cooling fan i dont remember wich one is,,,and inside the box ,you will find,two fuses (one is the spear)and just replace ,,the blow fuse for the spear one,,,,,(sorry bad english) ,,,

Five choices in order of probability >

cooling fan not kicking in due to a bad thermo switch (on radiator, wire leads to fan)
The thermostat could be bad
A pressure leak at the radiator cap would cause an overheat problem. Is the coolant 50-50 antifreeze and water?
A bad water pump
A restriction in a coolant line or radiator

I had a similar problem on one of my bikes. Turned out a "Test Port" had rattled loose between the carb and the intake. I threaded a screw in the hole to prevent the leak and problem was resolved.

I have a 2008 kfx450r that I just bought used an the original owner said it has maybe 40 hours on it, but the person I bought it from said it only had 5 hours on it. So my problem is that it is really hard...

I have a 07 kfx 450r it will run with starter fluid but will not start on its own. It has over 80psi compression has good spark the fuel pump works like normal and has good fuel pressure but wont start. Is...

you need to check throttle body and carbeurator. clean carbs. check your oil and check that your battery is holding a charge. has the bike been sitting for awihle? gas might be bad so replace it.

if u got the bike wet from driving it through water u may need to take carb off and let it dry then wash it petrol then put it back on and she will be up and running in no time turst me i have ktm sx 450 and ride it through water all the time

needs good battery to start
not enough info to diog
does the starter turn over
is it getting spark
or is fuel pump working

Make sure the cooling fan on the back is working properly it should be running if the unit is on. While your there check to make sure the plug is still plugged in for the ac to work. Also check the breaker in the box reset if necesary. All this good on the ac the heating element would be my next choice.
