Remove the battery terminals and the starter terminals and clean them shiny with a wire brush. Smear the contacts with Vaseline to stop oxidization and tighten the contacts. Also check the starter relay.

petcock maybe bad--gas line may be sucking air--bent gas line.
if bike has been sitting up jets could be clogged.

Use a voltage meter and test battery, If that is fine then Test the bike wiring loom at each connection point and you will find at what point its failing.

and need the small black plastic panels that bolt onto the bottom of the fairings I tried http://www.apriliayorkshire.co.uk but cant find any diagram with these panels ....!
