I just got an 83 Suzuki GSX 750 SE, I am looking for the front left brake caliper, I went to Bike Bandit and they had all these different '83 bikes like the GS 750 ED GS 750 ESD GS 750 SD GS 750 TD But no GSX 750... I contacted their sales help but they could not tell me which part number I would need for my bike. Any ideas as to which part would be the appropriate one? danielle

Hi, there is no such bike as a Kawasaki GSX-R750. What bike do you mean?

i had the same problem when i first got mine it is by the radiator . when you look into the right side fairing where the radiator is look in front of the radiator running long ways with your bike up against the fairings

check to see if the teeth on the starting gear looks warn down if so it needs to be replaced.

Also could be starter clutch. More than likely it's one of these two.

Vin number should be on the gooseneck at the triple trees just in front of the fuel tank on the left side

it would seem hard for me to believe that both your front calipers would go bad at the same time.. so i would think the problems is in the brake master cylinder, its not likely, but is possible that you have contamination in the system. you may want to get this problem looked at by a mechanic.

Make sure bike is upright, fully supported and weight of the front wheel, you will need say 50CM min clearance below to remove forks. Remove calipers from discs (two bolts attaching to each fork), remove front wheel (two bolts on bottom of each fork then wheel spindle), remove fender/mudguard (possibly four bolts), Undo the bolts that hold the forks into the lower yoke/triple clamp, undo the upper yoke/triple clamp bolt to remove fork (one side at a time) refitting is reverse of removal, enjoy.

think the disc them selfs are bigger on the 1200 than the 600...also they have diffrant brake calipers as well on each bike...so i dont think 1200 disc & calipers will fit the 600

i believe its the disc brake.check for any leakages in the hose connecting the brake pads as well as the oil levels.if its low than the threshold level please fill it up with the recommended brake oil for bike.(usually dot3 or dot4 for disc brakes)
also ensure the brake pads have grooves over it and they are in proper condition.if they are worn out then the disc would be filled with black oily substance.if yes for the previous conditions change the brake pads too.
