My Kawasaki Trimmer is running bad. It will run

My Kawasaki Trimmer is running and idling bad. It will run but I can't get to full throttle. I cleaned the Carb really well Checked the gas lines and they also seem ok. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check the throttle cable. You probably need to tighten it up. You will find it on the left hand side of the engine that is mounted it the top of the trimmer, thats where it normally is, but with the japanese you wouldn't know!! Have a look for it, won't be hard to find anyway. Also check the finger throttle. probably slack too.

Once you found the throttle cable at the top, find a optimum idling value and then tighten the cord at that point. (there should be an adjustable screw there.)

Hope it help's.

Hughie.

My 2004 Vulcan Classic 1500 won't idle.

is the carb jetted? if so check to make sure it has the right size jets. too small of jets starve the engine of fuel, and too large flood it. also there should be 2 jets one main jet which controls the amount of fuel when at 1/4 throttle to fuel throttle and then there should be a second which would be the pilot jet that controls idle mixture (1/4 throttle and less) it's longer and thinner than the main jet with multiple holes for mixing air and fuel for idle. have them to make sure the jetting is correct. Also IF the engine had been bored you will need to use larger jets for the added volume in the cylinder chamber from the boring. aftermarket exhausts will also cause the engine to be rejetted but usually the sellers will have charts telling you what jets to run with the exhaust.

Let the engine warm at idle adequately before applying full throttle. With the engine warm, slowly bump the throttle and see if the response is good: if the engine wants to die again, let it continue warming at idle. If the problem persists, check that you are mixing your oil/gas mixture at the correct ratio: too much oil and you risk clogged the works.

Kawasaki khd 600A hedge trimmer just wont start.it runs for a second and stops

Bit late to help the owner of this question and yes it could be a carbie issue but also check the idle speed. If it has dropped out of calibration and is idling too low it will start then stop. Try starting with some throttle, keep it running if you can until it warms up then let the throttle go back to idle. If it stops check to see if opening the idle screw solves it.

Only runs on full throttle

Are you saying full throttle, or full choke? if full throttle, you should be able to set the idle up. the idle screw will be the one when you give it gas, it will be the screw on you'r throttle linkage. If full choke, maybe the spark arrestor is plugged. You can remove it by removing the muffler. It would be between the muffler and cylinder head. You don't need this to run.I hope any thing I posted will help.
