The right side of my 96 vulcan 1500 seems colder then the left side exhaust

Is it normal for the right side exhaust to be colder then the left

    I just marbled the reed boxes and still seem to have a popping on decel and every once in a while at idle but only from left exhaust could this be carb related I just changed plugs yesterday properly gapped,,bike did sit all last year as i was working too much and no time to replace fuel pump bike ran great before fuel pump went out replaced fuel pump and filter last week

    thanks jimhr10 i found a nick in one of the wires going to coil on that side of the bike, replaced that wire harness and now the bike is fine thanks again

If you modified the exhaust or intake you will have to re jet the carburetors.

The engines are the same, depending on model of the 2001 if its a classic then I'm sure it will, I would go to Vance & Hines's web site and check there fit on exhaust for a 1998 verses a 2001 you'll probably see that it carrys the same part number.

I have a 1996 1500 vulcan and it's not firing on the left side, I can smell raw fuel and there is no power, any suggestions please
I've got the same Vulcan. It has 2 coils. If one side is not firing then check the coil that supplies it with power. Easy to check - use a "light" tester and see if it lights up. The coils are underneath the tank / seat.

1998 kawasaki 1500 vulcan slave clutch bleeder valve
The clutch bleeder is behind the left engine cover, you will have to remove the left exhaust from the head and also the left front foot peg in order to get it off should be about 5 bolts holding engine cover on dont worry its just a cover no oil leakage from that side, then it will be down just above the frame, it will have clutch hose going to it.. to Bleed it remove cap on leftside handle bar make sure fluid level is 3/4 fulll hold clutch lever in then open valve, let air out then close valve release clutch lever, should fix if not repeat bleeding until you have good pressure on clutch lever, dont let fluild get to low . once pressure is good refill and put cap back on. put bike back togather and RIDE good luck

I have a 1996 Vulcan Classic 1500. It has two air cleaners, one on each side. However, the guiy I bought it from said it only needs a filter in the one on the right?? Does anyone know about this?
This is correct. The left side is just for looks. There is only one carburator. make sure your jetted properly if you change exhaust.
keep baffels in for back pressure or you could burn valves.
This bike handles great, but you need to remember that it is a heavy bike and will not stop as quickly as most. You'll find it's purrrrrfect at 50.

Poor a/c performance, not cold enough and right side seems almost warm (hemi V-8)
If the a/c works but not as well as you like, then it's likely that the charge of r134a is low due to a slow leak.

Get an r134a recharge kit with 1 can included to see if bumping up the pressure of r134a solves your problem.

Also, sometimes there are zoned left and right a/c and heater controls that can be set so that the passenger side (right side) is warmer or colder than the driver's side (left side).

Try the above and I wish you luck on this repair.

Any way to adjust the rear shocks on a 1996 vulcan 1500-a10 ?
dear susan shock adjustment for the rear shock are done with c wrench. you will notice at the top of the shocks there is a ring with 3 adjustment cams. the wrench is placed in the two holes you see on the shock opposite each other this is where the wrench fits you simply turn either direction for softer or harder ride. this adjustment puts more or less tension on the spring. i own a 96 vulcan as well hope this will help you jim
