As I was riding the bike it started slipping and the bike got slower and slower till I was finally downshifting into first gear and it finally just quit pulling all together but I could still shift the tranny into all gears it just wouldn't pull sounds like clutch plates to me. Any advice

your clutch has a throw out bearing of sort i forgot what its called but its your problem your best answer is to get ahold of a group called atsg (atumotive transmission service group) they can best tell u the problem and if u want u can order a guide that shows u everything

is this pensol15/40 a motorcycle oil ,do not use auto motor oil in your bic it contains a friction modifier which will coat the clutch plates and cause them to slip and then glaze. the clutch plates will have to be removed and cleaned with brake cleaner and lighty sanded to remove the glaze. jim

sounds like you need a clutch. Yes the friction plates should move a bit when you pull your clutch lever in that is how the clutch works what oil are you running in you tranny and have you tried adjusting the clutch cable? When you had your clutch apart what did the friction plates look like was there much meat left on them?

If the clutch lever is properly adjusted, this is normally what happens if the gearbox oil is extremely dirty. Do and oil change then ride for 30 minutes. Then change the oil again to help flush out the dirt. If that doesn't help, then the clutch pressure plates are warped or the cork on the fiber friction plates is swollen from using synthetic lubricants in the gearbox. Check the plates and replace as needed.

I don't think your clutch is bad, if it doesn't slip when hot. I would be blaming the pull on the lever not enough, or the gears are worn in the tranny. You can adjust the lever and you can try bleeding off the clutch, The engine oil usually cools the clutch, I'm not sure where your filter is, mine is underneath like a car. My tranny clunks and grinds when revving too much, have to wait for the revs to go down before shifting into first. It used to slip on hot days. Hasn't done it but a couple times. I never took out the clutch basket, but it seems fairly easy. If the oil change doesn't do it, and the bleeding of the slave, I would have to dig deeper into complaints about your bike, before I blame the clutch. You might not have to touch it, but you might be looking at something else. Check it out.
